These are really premium, and the build quility is awesome. Go to your local bestbuy to see a demo unit. 6x wow points back is like another $85 off. I think these units are a little too pricey for what they offer from the bat, and with the low wattage 3060 but only 7~ battery life... kinda ruins it for me. Also the display 300 nits... and FHD for 15.6 inch kinda bums me out these days. that storage is awesome tho

I have this model, and love it. No complaints. This will get me through the next 4 years or so, then I'll upgrade to new tech. This is a good price. About what I paid with stacked discounts.

Agreed. I bought this 2 months ago when it was $1350. I even upped the RAM to 40GB. It's a 100w 3060 which isn't far off from the max mobile 3060 at 115w. Which is far better than the minimum wattage of a mobile 3060 at only 60w. It's fairly light for a gaming laptop and has enough ports to hook up multiple monitors. Also you can use up to 100w usbC charger with it, so I keep a generic charger in the living room to keep it filled when I'm not at my desk. Yes the brightness could be a bit better (400nit would have been sweet) but to be honest I usually run my monitors pretty low anyway (bright lights are hard in my eyes). I'm super happy with this laptop for its price point!

Hey Sphere-Dud, you need to be a member of the Perks at Work program & log in prior to clicking on OP's link. I've added a QA note to the deal. Hope that helps!

Kk thanks. I've been trying to get the walmart non slim legion 5 pro with no success. Wouldn't mind slim version but see this has soldered ram (2 x8gb), anyone know if expandable?, 300 nit (vs 500nit), and obv 3060 (w 6gb ram, this a deal killer?) vs 3070 gpu, and dual 1+1tb ssd on slim is legit vs 500gb ssd on non slim. Any thoughts on why one might be overwhelmingly better than the other?

Just checked and it looks like it's 512GB SSD (BB version) vs this one which is 2TB (1TB + 1TB).

If you're looking for sheer performance, then the Legion 5 pro is the way to go. I chose the Legion Slim 7 just because I wanted a lightweight, sleek laptop for everyday use which I can use for gaming occasionally (and a 100w 3060 can run almost any game at ultra settings at 1080p with >60fps). I also liked that it has a fingerprint sensor which the L5P doesn't. I don't run RAM heavy softwares anyway, so the 16gb maximum dual channel memory wasn't a deal breaker (even if you upgrade to 32gb on the sodimm slot, you only still have 16gb running on dual channel, the rest is single channel). I have been using it for a couple of months now, and really love this laptop!

I assume no way to join that unless your work qualifies or something? Or can anyone become a member?

I think membership is required through an employer. Maybe some other nice SDer can point you in the direction of an alternative.

Just try it, many employers don't participate but you can sign up anyway.
