      • "The LG C1 is an amazing all-around TV. It has stunning picture quality thanks to its near-infinite contrast ratio, which is great for watching movies or gaming in the dark. The near-instant response time makes motion look exceptionally clear in fast-moving games and sports, and its low input lag is great for gaming or use as a PC monitor. While it doesn't get very bright for HDR, its high contrast helps it deliver a satisfying HDR experience."

Best Buy has finally dropped the price on this. But it does cost more there If you choose to add extended Geek Squad coverage.

The LG C1 OLED is the 2021 replacement for the LG CX OLED. It has the new 'Game Optimizer' settings, a redesigned Magic Remote, and a new version of webOS. Like all OLED TVs, it has self-lit pixels that can be turned off individually to produce an almost infinite contrast ratio. The C1 still has a lot to offer, including a new setting for lower input lag, as well as a near-instantaneous response time and variable refresh rate (VRR) support.

Here's a summary from all of the data I've collected about these TVs (including owning an older OLED for years):

"Regular use," ie TV/streaming in the evenings won't harm the TV at all.

"Heavy use" can cause some damage if you have static images on the screen all of the time. Think logos in the corners, news tickers and banners, etc. A football Sunday won't harm it, but watching news 24/7 definitely will. This leads to burn in (technically "ghosting" since burn-in is a CRT TV problem)

PC monitor: PCs have static images everywhere: task bar, icons, clock, etc. Unlike a dedicated monitor, there is no standby mode built in. It's still a TV - you have to use the remote to turn it on and off (or button). If you want to use it in this way, you'll have to babysit the TV unlike any monitor you've ever owned.

Finally: a 42" model was supposed to come in 2021, but it's been pushed back to 2022. That means it'll be this price next year around this time, if not cheaper.

Other than that, it's OLED. It's the best picture quality you can buy. The Samsung QN90 is remarkably close, but if watched side-by-side there's no comparison.
So is this them price matching Costco basically?

Tempted on the 48" as a monitor but the Linus review after long term use (I believe it was CX) has me a bit worried about using it as a computer monitor. As a TV I know there are zero issues, so if that's your use case, it shouldn't be an issue.
Zero.

That's how I would use this too, as a monitor. I've read a ton of comments on burn-in and I think it's not an issue mainly except for gaming usage for long periods of time where images are in the same place over extended periods. And even with that I think there are ways to avoid this. It does have some sort of pixel shifting to avoid this also. I think it was more of an issue perviously. Here's an article. https://www.techradar.com/news/ha...been-fixed. And this one from LG https://www.lg.com/us/experience-...eliability

I'm the one who posted this and I really like Best Buy's Geek Squad tech support, but it's not included in the price here.

Alternatively, on Amazon 48" = $1097 and 55" = $1297.
Both include 6 months of HBO/Max streaming.

Thanks for sharing this. It's new as I check for prices on this daily including on Amazon. But they're charging extra for extended protection too. I'd rather have that than 6 months of HBO/Max streaming.

Understood. The new deal(s) going that include extended protection (although not burn-in) is at Costco; same prices as BB and also include a $100 streaming credit.

Bought this on the 10th from Amazon, what's the chances they will price match and refund the $200 difference?

Don't think about it any further, buy it! I'm using it as a computer monitor for gaming and I love it. It is a total game changer!

Some credit cards have price protection cover over a period of time. Our MC has like 3 months of it I think. Are you out of the return time frame if you got it from Amazon?

They certainly won't do the price match, if the price is dropped at Amazon as well try to chat and explain them if they are not ready. Order with low price and return the one that you already have.

Amazon is little rigid on this and they don't care about shipping cost.
