I'm a Zenni convert for sure. My teen daughter has switched to contacts, so buying an expensive pair of glasses to use maybe an hour or two a week (indoors before bed) didn't make sense. So we now have 2-3 pair of cheap glasses for her.

And my wife has a nasty habit of misplacing glasses. So we have (literally) 10 pair of glasses floating around the house/cars for her.

21 year old son has maybe 8 pair himself.

And this is all a LOT cheaper than buying just one expensive pair at Costco or wherever.

We've had two issues with our Zenni orders. One they took care of promptly and one I just got too lazy to contact them about, so I just forgot about it (since we have so many.)

All in all, I'm a fan.

Edit: because I just get the cheap included lenses most of the time these days, this sale doesn't really help me much. Typically they'll offer a BF or Cyber Monday deal of like 20% off everything. That's what I've been waiting for before I order a couple more pair.
Wake me up when it's 50% off the frames
Bought glasses here many times. Have had no issues at all.

Price out 30% off high-index polycarbonate bifocals w/oleophobic anti glare coating vs 50% off Zenni's most expensive frames (that you would actually want to wear) and tell me which is the better deal.

First, thanks OP for your amazing timing. I was about to buy a pair of glasses from Zenni for my kiddo and this popped up. Repped!

If you don't mind telling me your experience with Lasik was, I'm scared to get it because I don't want them to accidentally laser me blind. Thank you
The vast majority of complications from laser eye surgery come from the corneal flap the surgeon creates in the LASIK procedure. Most of the complications are related to the flap not healing up correctly or opening up again at some future point.

You can avoid all of those complications by getting PRK or another surface procedure that doesn't require a flap to be created. That's what I did and it worked our really well. The down side is that your eyes are sore for a few days. The up side is that you can never experience a flap complication for the rest of your life.

Most people choose LASIK because they can see perfectly and go back to work the next day, and they never even consider the other options. Do yourself a favor and consider all the options like PRK.

Eyebuydirect is ok for the prices of their frames, lasted 6 months without looking terribly used.
My family experience with them is extremely negative. They didn't read our rx's correctly and didn't want to admit it and take their products back.Mad

love zenni. way cheaper even for high index lenses. you can tint anything into sunglasses. we have a bunch of these things in the family. if you just want stylish sunglasses they have some options, but they arent as pretty to see through as costas or serengeti but they are fine.

Goggles4U has the best prices and better quality. (As does Costco)

I've ordered several pairs at different times (different family members) from Zenni, their quality isn't great and the frames didn't seem to fit that well.
Goggles4U is the cheapest, budget brand you can buy LOL. If you need a throwaway pair for $10 they're great, but otherwise they're pretty garbage. Zenni has been the best quality so far, and their prices (even though they're still cheap) reflect that.

How much was the lasik?
Around $4k with 0% interest payments for 2 years.

It wasn't that bad honestly. The entire procedure only takes like 10 minutes.
You have to keep your eyes covered for a couple days after and you will get dry eyes for a while. They give you eye drops to help with that. I got mine done in January and I still use eye drops occasionally in the mornings, but I think it's more from the ceiling fan than from the LASIK. I'm so glad I got it done. No regrets whatsoever.

I got LASIK in 2001. I started noticing worsening eyesight by 2010 and I was back in glasses by 2014. They weren't so upfront about the fact that it wouldn't last forever.
LASIK technology has gotten a lot better since 2001. They were upfront in letting me know that LASIK is not a permanent solution and that eventually when I get older I may still need reading glasses. I'm young enough (in my 30s) that it will hold me for a while until that occurs.

I want to like Zenni, but it seems like their best looking frames only ever come in the medium size range, and as such seem geared towards smaller / more petite individuals.

I don't think my head is that huge, but I'm a 5'11 dude, and I bought a pair last year with a temple width of 142mm, and I loved how they looked but they just weren't large enough for my head. I got those silicone extenders to put around the ends of the temple stems, but those only work to a certain extent and I'd find them still managing to slide down throughout the course of the day.

I just filtered all their available male frames by size L (145mm+, which my eye doctor told me is average for men) and it only returned one page of results for oval and round frames, and honestly none of them looked very nice.

I found a pair that look great, but of course they are 143mm...

If anyone has input or suggestions on how I could order smaller pairs and get them to fit - other than the silicone sleeves - please let me know as I do really like many of their medium size frames. But unfortunately it seems this company is tailoring most of their products to women and the sizes available for average sized males are just not as diverse.

Don't be scared off by the extremely small percentage of people who may have encountered issues with LASIK. The procedure is damn near perfected at this point.
Just like anything else do your research and make sure you get it done by a reputable surgeon.

Zenni is great. The glasses were better than the garbage the government paid for. I have had about 15 pairs over the last 10 years. They last surprisingly long for $7-$12 glasses.
Average brand name glasses should last you at least for 3-4 years, depends on your wearing habits. After all you only have one pair of eyes. Take good care of them. Don't buy cheap crap.

Love Zenni... every 18-24 months order me 2 pairs of glasses for less than $50 with shipping. Only ever had one issue with extreme glare on the lenses. Much like other comments didn't care to even contact them. Big fan of this.

How are their Blue Light Blocking lenses? Am I better off with anti reflective if I have screen sensitivity?

I thought Zenni was all $6-14 frames, they've raised their prices and limited the options for the bargain pricing.

Anyone have advice on a good source for cheap readers? I'm trying not to spend $20+ on them but I'm realizing when you can't customize them, the dollar store version doesn't cut it.

Has anyone purchased recently? How has the shipping time frame been? I've ordered in the past and gotten them before the 14-21 days but a slower post office and the worker shortage, I don't know what to expect.

Anyone have experience with this company or EyeBuyDirect?
My wife and I have bought from Zenni on two occasions, June 2019 and November 2020. Five pairs of glasses, and two sunglasses. I'm around -4.5 and astigmatism in one eye, as far as prescription complications go.

I previously shopped at Americas Best (where I still get my exam done, as I like the OD there). Ray Ban only for about 10 years.

Even the two year old Zenni are still fine. None of the coatings have started coming off, unlike my Americas Best/Ray Bans which never seem to last a full year before they start chipping off. I treat my glasses pretty poorly and wash them with bath soap in the shower, not with whatever bullshit lens cleaners.

Only thing is that Zenni doesn't do super-wide lenses, such as wrap-around sunglasses. Those require different equipment to fill the prescriptions, and I haven't found anywhere that sells them for significantly less than Americas Best.

The closest I found to my favorite wrap-arounds (Rec Spec Biker) were https://www.zennioptical.com/p/sp...uId=743121 at 53mm. There was a $10 fee to get my prescription into even those lenses, but the coupon code at the time, 25% off over $75, counted towards that fee.

I am watching AB for sales on my favorite sunglasses. Lost them surfing, but I'm not gonna shell out $400 for frames/lenses with them again.

ETA: now that I see my the coupon I had on my old order, I'm def not going to buy with Zenni right now. I was kinda tempted to get some new styles, but this coupon code isn't good enough - there will probably be something better with Black Friday so close.

Learn that lesson long time back, I used my glasses 24/7. Clean them with Zeiss wipes when dirty. AR coating usually get destroyed by harsh soaps and rough paper surfaces, stop cleaning your lens with cloths and napkins. I am used to Crizal AR coating, never get chipped or damaged even after 4-5 yrs.

My last order was pretty seamless. It's for my kid. He misplaced his insurance provided pair. Grrrr. Zenni came to the rescue. Got him 2 pairs in case the pair gets smashed.
