I don't like how this deal is set up. In order to cancel the service you have to do so through your Bestbuy account. Someone on BB stated that a BB associate told them that will refer you to Tidal if there's an issue managing your Tidal account. Tidal on the other hand has a FAQ page that states that BB is responsible for handling billing issues.

This deal is not worth the bother. MQA is a gimmick. It's not truly lossless high resolution. Qobuz is better if you care about audio quality and functionality. Qobuz has a website with deep filtering for metadata and they also have booklets. If you're okay with standard lossless or lossy compression than Apple, Amazon, and Spotify are the way to go.

Tidal won't survive through the next economic slump. Offering ridiculous low price deals like this is a sign of weakness.
Once you try Tidal you'll never go back to using any other streaming service. The master release quality is amazing.. Worth every penny.

I've had such a positive experience with it. I use it every day and it's blown me away. You will hear sounds in songs that you've never heard before on your favorite albums.

lol this sounds like a fake paid review, but I really do like it. I have every other service as well and this is definitely #1 in quality if you're an audiophile.

I'm not a casual user. You have no idea what you're talking about. Tidal Masters are not even really lossless. The MQA format uses lossy compression to reduce the size of the file to save bandwidth. Qobuz offers true 24bit lossless with sample rates up to 192kHz. Far superior to MQA.

Exactly. And the last 2 times I signed up for Tidal low priced gimmicks, it was difficult or impossible to cancel and I eventually got charged full price until I blocked future charges to my credit card. Not worth the hassle.

I have no doubt that the hassle is deliberate on the part of Tidal and Bestbuy. It's essentially a scam. Everyone who has been screwed over on this deal needs to swear off ever buying anything from these companies ever again. I don't care how cheap BB marks down a product. I'll never buy from them ever.

I finally got through to a customer agent at BB and after what seemed like an inordinate amount of time the rep was able to disable auto-renew for my Tidal subscription. What a PITB this process was. They could simply allow the customer to self-manage their own subscriptions like every other online company does but they instead chose to add a gatekeeping hurdle.

Never ever buying anything from Bestbuy in the future. Folks, I don't care how "slick" the deal is we need to have some self-respect. Don't give your business and money to companies that have unethical practices.

Got Tidal Subscription from BestBuy and after searching for a while on BB website, went to Tidal ->Manage Account, there was a link that account is managed thru BB,clicked on it and cancelled the auto renew. BBsite gave option to continue Subscription until expiry. pretty easy to cancel it this way

I'm puzzled by the reports of how difficult it was to cancel via Best Buy. I genuinely think that the people who are having trouble are failing to follow some fairly simple directions. I'm on my 4th (or thereabouts) Tidal subscription purchased via Best Buy, I've never had any issue canceling the auto-renewal on the Best Buy website. It appears that Tidal even works (maybe for a month or so) even after the subscription has lapsed; when it actually stops working, I buy another subscription and enter the code to restart my membership. The only thing I don't like is that the clock starts ticking from purchase, not when you activate, so you cannot buy a bunch and stack.

That's not how it works anymore. Bestbuy now requires you to speak or chat with a Bestbuy customer representative. The hold times I was subjected to were 45-56 minutes.

This additional hurdle was put on in place to make it more difficult to cancel. It took me 3 days to get through to a Bestbuy rep. That's a hassle in my book.

I just canceled mine 3 days ago online at bestbuy.com. Maybe because I'm in California and I think we require online cancellation. Not sure.
