Samsung has their 49" curved G9 gaming monitor at $923.99 if you are eligible for employee discount. The reviews on this monitor are slightly mixed, but the specs are hard to beat.

If you have a Costco Visa card you can charge the transaction to it and benefit from an additional 24 month warranty, which should put you at ease given the less than stellar reviews for this model.

The monitor is $999 on Amazon if EPP doesn't work for you.

I'm wondering the same thing though I know it's overkill. :D

If you want three screens, it's perfect. It's overkill for two, without a doubt.

I have a monoprice 49" and run DisplayFusion software to emulate multiple monitors (instead of "snapping"), and it works great.

But if you don't want three monitors, stick to something just north of 35" in my opinion, as I felt like my curved 35" was just barely too small to have dual screens on. But there aren't really many budget-friendly options past 35" until you get all the way up to 49", sad to say.

I use this for work and am buying another for a separate office .. absolutely love it

I use it for a work monitor, it's fantastic if you have the desk space.
Tried it for a week as a developer on MacBook, they are actually longer so have better screen real estate, they are easier to share screen for online meeting as I can choose to share only one screen and work on sth else on the other, I also found Mac OS's native split screen does not work well on a 49 screen (can only split it to half, I tried Rectangle and Tiles but I don't like them). in the end decided to go back to my original 34 + 27 setup, I gave my G9 to my wife and she seems happy :D

Yea, it has PIP and you can display two screens at once. You just have to juggle the inputs accordingly.

On point, this is a darn great price!

It has one hdmi

I believe there's only one that works: Ergotron HX with the heavy-duty tilt pivot.

You can also get an amazon basics arm and mod it to work on the g9. 1/3rd the price and gets the job done (using it on my setup with no issues). Looks like the amazon arm is out of stock currently though. Save even more money by buying used off someone =)

I have this monitor there are not many stands that can really handle the weight distribution correctly.

I have this and 2, 30 inch dell up true colors mounted above because of the stand issue.

Gaming wise, I'm kind of transitioning away from it, just make sure your games handle this resolution, some games like overwatch limit aspect ratios to keep the competitive landscape fair,

Productivity wise, 2, 24.5 inch monitors next to each other at 1440p, so really need to be close to your face since resolution and size is directedly relative to distance.

No, most of the ultra wide monitors can't match the vertical height of a regular 32" monitor.
In this case:
G7 height without stand is 17.29"
G9 height without stand is only 14.31"

It's worth it for the real estate alone if you will use it.

I ordered, then read reviews and cancelled. FYI, if you attempt to cancel the order, they make you an offer:

If you decide to keep this item, we would like to offer you 5 % off(maximum amount up to $50 per order).

If you accept, we will send a confirmation of the final price to email address:

Edit: YMMV - I used the military discount. Some people are reporting that this didn't work for them, perhaps that's why? Or the offer is random?
This model monitor was never 699
Also funnily enough, I did use the Costco Anywhere Visa on the (new) purchase. Good tip, and I can't recommend enough buying all electronics or warrantied devices with that card. 2 Years of additional warranty is worth a lot for peace of mind, practicality, and even helps if you later give the monitor to friends/family.

I did this backwards. Found the deal then checked Slickdeals. I'm kicking myself as I just ordered one for $1100 yesterday. Praying that my cancellation makes it through in time, and I just ordered it (again) straight through Samsung. This is a fantastic deal for this monitor, as it's hard to get it below $1000 even used, let alone brand new. There might be a better cashback promotion closer to BF/CM, but there are decent rates even at this time (though unfortunately monitors are under the exclusions category and have less cashback). Great work posting this, OP.

Naw meant I bought it elsewhere for $1100. Before today, this monitor was pretty expensive on Samsung's website.

Was looking for a deal on this and about this post this!

Was not going to buy a refurb with only 90 day warranty... This is cheaper, will double warranty to two years with Amex, and should be the latest manufactured date units for less risk.

I just ordered the CRG9 a couple of days ago for $866 from Samsung. Is it worth cancelling for this?

Yeah new, wow….must resist. The quantum dot one is better…will wait 3 years for that one to come down in price…
