My friend, for the sake of making things easy, i recommend you to invest on a cyberpower PC(https://www.cyberpowerpc.com/). But you have to fork more than 1k.
Do NOT get walmart crap, doesnt matter how good the deal sounds, because is just not worth it

Yeah there are no bad products only bad prices, but still no one should be buying 11th gen right now.

Although 11400k with a cheap mobo would still make a nice lil rig.

I'm looking to replace my i5-6500 and ASUS Prime Z270-P motherboard.

I would like to get a CPU/Motherboard combo that would give me a significantly more power. Any suggestions?

Look at the current Slickdeal on the HP Pavilion with Ryzen 3 3600G and GTX1660 Super graphics card for about $609. From what I've seen, this is the cheapest passable gaming computer. You'll need to decide if the 1660 Super is enough. Otherwise, you might just get a computer without a graphics card, but with a Ryzen 3 5300G or Ryzen 5 5600G. The AMD Ryzen G processors have "good" integrated graphics built in and some have decided to just get one of these while waiting for graphics card prices to come back down. Note that some are wondering if HP will ship computers in time for Christmas due to delays beyond the estimated shipping date.

I went ahead and got the MSI for my build, pairing it with the i5-11700K. Went with the 6E wifi.
