If you were to use that logic then you could say the same thing about millions of other things that are being sold... This is significantly cheaper than the other options at this price. I'm sure if people could do it themselves so easily then they would have already
you give people too much credit for doing things themselves even if those things are easy to do
This kit is designed to slow down someone who wants to kick in your entry door. This will give the occupants time to react before the door is breached.
Most entry doors (dead bolts, door jamb, etc.) will yield to a determined forced entry.
I prevent home invasions the old fashioned way: kids' toys in the yard and a well-worn minivan in the driveway. Clearly these people are broke.

Two door always better than one
Is frame anchored correctly?
They may help slow somebody down, if criminal is willing to get in, they will just use a window. Or maybe pick a lock (lock picking lawyer has good classes on youtube).
Just getting better door, locks and security system is better investment.
The problem that good quality doors are very uncommon in USA but standard in Europe

Basically what they are are steel door jambs that use really long screws and also give you metal reinforce hinges and on the door too. The important part is the door jamb, where if you are like me and most people with a wood frame door, the purpose is to reinforce with metal vs just wood. The long screws really hold it in, and the metal is pretty thick and really strong. With a deadbolt locked in place, the door jamb won't be moving any time soon. The long screws are a key factor in this to hold the metal but also to give it the strength it needs. The one thing I recommend is to take your time lining these up, there is little flexibility once you install them, so make sure they are in the right spot. But yes this does make the door jamb stronger and with a steel door and deadbolt, it will take a bit more effort to break down. The steel jamb has multiple pre-cut outs for the where the door lock and handle meet the jamb, just a basic twist and break off kind of thing; beware of little burrs after.
I also installed the hinges, which are just steel that goes over the top of the existing hinges. You just unscrew a few of the screws that hold a hinge in and put this over top. Pretty easy. Seems like it is pretty sturdy as it uses the same concept as the door jamb. You don't need to take the entire door or hinges out to install. Haven't really tested the hinges, but rather not try to break my door.
I did not install the little door reinforcement part as I had a steel door but also they were a tad small to fit. If you have a steel door, don't bother with these imo. They are easy to install though if you did want to put them in. Be aware of the space between the door and jamb though, these may make it a bit too tight.
