I bought in 2019 a desktop with 2080 Ti from this vendor with solid performance. Never had any issue and still goes strong. Chat with sales is available on their website during work hour, I also called them once in 2019 and had the impression they cared about their customers so I recommend this vendor from my limited experience. Their BF deal this year is disappointing to me in general, but I found this one may make sense for someone who looks for value and has a hard $1500 budget. Combined with other cashbacks may bring the price even sweeter.

I wonder how much Facebook uses in resources per day, more or less than mining? And that all goes in one person's pocket. Why is mining so terrible but the loss of productivity from social media is perfectly acceptable

Stupid comparison and a whataboutism.

Fancy debate terms, you still are attacking the argument instead of answering the questions lol

If you mine ETH on the 6700XT to recoup some of your purchase price, your final price will be around $1000 in 6 months.

whattomine lists this gpu at about $2.96/day profit if your elec cost is 10 cents kw/h. If we suppose there are 6 months left to mine ETH, thats roughly $530 profit. This may go up or down with the price of ETH and/or when ETH mining is halted in 2022.

Deal isn't great IMO but using off-the-shelf parts is a big plus.

Used 6700 XT goes for about $800 on fleabay. You can expect to see a hashrate of around 40MH/s (a RTX 3060 Ti LHR card was tested in the real world with the new NBMiner update, and this card was also able to hit 40.5MH/s. A 35% improvement over the 3060 Ti LHR's standard hashrate of 30MH/s, and used prices around the same as the 6700 XT).

Which between these 2 cards would you prefer?

Rest of the parts worth $700?
This is a new card, not used. I wouldn't look at used values to determine what the new parts are worth.

This is more of a reply to the overall thread.

You are purchasing a capitol good. Closest argument would be like saying "You shouldn't use your car(capitol good) to work Uber or Lyft in your spare time because it's bad for the environment.

Environmentalism is a complex topic and you should worry about your own carbon footprint and systemic change rather than policing others.

I dislike what impact mining is having on GPU pricing and availability for gamers and hopefully this corrects soon. But I and a number of other gamers have been lucky enough to purchase a rig outside of their initial budget and have it subsidized or even get it for "free" due to mining.

Cool, and I'm just letting you know that no one cares about the dumb mining thing, unless of course you're talking about it wiping out GPU supply or about it's immense environmental impact at a time when we absolutely need to be conserving resources rather than shredding through them.

Chill my friend. Some people do care.

you made a thoughtful original comment and someone dropped a simple one-line troll comment, but that person also followed up with a decent (albeit obviously angry at miners) comment to which you made an even more practical reply. You sir, are awesome. Just wanted to say that.

Partly agree, but unfortunately a lot of people ONLY care about the mining potential of any desktop w just about any GPU these days, whether it's stupid or not 75% of the value of most desktops these days is wrapped up in inflated GPU prices. So is the world we live in (hopefully not for long) whether you like it or not.

And here's my take on this deal. It's weak. The Alienware r12 w the 3060ti for $1372 is better than this deal. I went with that one.
That being said, I would say this deal is weak as well and I also went with the R12 deal to replace my aging 11yr old CPU box in a upgraded everything I can Dell Precision T3500. I used to build my own rigs before that goin back to first Pentinum "cartridge" CPUs w/ AGP port, but in last few years, makes more sense to buy pre-built with some flexibility. The R12 w/ Amex deal and 15% CB still seems to be a better deal than this or the HP deals I keep seeing. Hoping for a faster ship date than listed....

Take a chill pill. Ethereum mining isn't even close to the main cause of the GPU shortage. It's a combination of scalpers, the worst silicon chip shortage in history, and more people working from home than ever. Even Nvidia and AMD have stated this. PS5's can't be mined on, yet they're not any easier to get for retail prices. Everyone is just looking for a scapegoat, when almost all of the blame should be directed toward scalpers and the people paying these outrageous prices scalpers are asking. If people would stop buying from scalpers, they'd be forced to unload all the GPU's their hoarding at retail price. And, no, I'm not one of those "professional" miners. I'm a gamer that mines on my one 3080 in my PC while I'm not gaming. Anyone with a decent GPU that's not mining on it isn't a true "slickdealer" 😄. It's basically free idle income. I've been mining on it since late June, and have made enough to pay for my entire high-end PC build, and then some (even after electricity cost). If a FREE high-end PC isn't a slickdeal, I don't know what is 😁.
