Galaxy Book Go | Windows 11 Home | 14.0" | Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 7c Gen 2 | 4GB | 128GB | Wifi | Silver, regular price $349.99

MODEL NUMBER: NP340XLA-KA4US

Samsung has the Galaxy Book Go on sale with a trade in device. You also get $100 off as an instant rebate. Trade in one of the devices listed on their website, and get up to $190 instant credit. Sign in with an EDU email account and get an additional discount. Expected delivery is Dec. 7, 2021.

I just purchased the base model Galaxy Book Go. I'll trade in an old Dell Inspiron that runs Windows XP and get $100 credit for it. Your final price will vary depending on what device you trade in and how much credit Samsung will give you for it.

I was looking for a basic laptop for my husband, who will only use it for web browsing. He has arthritis in his hands and can't use a tablet. I wanted a Windows based system rather than a Chromebook. This fit the bill. The 4GB ram is good enough for his needs.

I got a $100 instant rebate plus $100 for my Dell Inspiron. That brought the cost down to $150. I also used an EDU account and had some Samsung promo credits which brought the cost down further. Depending on the device you trade in, you can get a decent deal on this.

This is a very basic laptop, and it does have limitations, but sometimes that's all some folks need.

I don't think it's of much value unless you have an old-a$$ laptop that you can't really use.

In my case, a 9 yo Acer Aspire i3 that has a loud fan and runs Win10 after a 5 minute start up, giving me $75, is worth the upgrade/trade in.
I have some older iPads that have gotten insanely slow, trade in value is about $120-150 if I choose the Windows 10 version. Which I think is fair value, but website won't actually let me purchase the Win 10 version. Only option is Best Buy pickup, but cart gets emptied when I try to check out.

i would've get it at $60 with trade in, for $150.... i think this is a terrible deal, apparently its a really low quality TFT screen and window 11 takes up 60-70% of the 128gb already. i know i am not comparing apple to apple but recently i got a Apple M1 pro 14 inch close to $3k and i felt like its worth every penny, for basic web surfing and email i think any basic chromebook would beat this laptop, my 4 years old Acer chromebook R13 seems to have really good screen and build quality compare to this POS

Lol idk why you brought in the MacBook Pro into conversation. This would have been OK deal with $250 MSRP max. Otherwise it's POS value for this price.

I think might risk getting your trade-in denie if it is an ancient device. IE they are prob thinking a recent thinkpad for 100$ , not a 14 year old thinkpad.

Looks like you save $60 by choosing the windows 10 model. Shame that this laptop isn't lighter. Surprised that the laptop weighs over 3 lbs yet has no moving parts...guessing the 14" screen is what adds the weight. Anyway, 4gb of ram is a deal breaker for me. If it were on a Chromebook that might be a different story but that's pretty much unacceptable for a windows box
Did you also happen to notice that this is an ARM-based Windows laptop? That has two additional downstream problems:
  • The generally problematic experience of Windows on ARM outside of basic browsing and productivity (i.e. - will your corner case x86 application work?).
  • The demands that some Windows store applications might make to run on an ARM CPU through emulation (which typically consumes... wait for it... more RAM!)
This is a great discount on the pile of parts, but also probably correctly represents the pricing as something below the usual $150 Atom Windows laptop. If Windows on ARM debuted on a bunch of sub-$100 laptops the general market reception might have been much kinder given the spotty history (Windows RT, anyone? Perhaps we even have some real OGs who recall Windows NT on alternative CPUs?).

Snapdragon CPUs are an interesting option in the Chromebook world because their performance puts them somewhere in the middle of the Intel Atom range (so above the MediaTek bottom of the barrel) and their near universal compatibility with Android apps actually gives them an edge over Intel. In Windows PCs there's still no compelling case for ARM yet. Don't make yourself (or your loved ones) guinea pigs.

Good luck!

The EDU pricing is $224.99

If you're insane enough to trade in something like an S10 Plus you can get the price to zero (as they valued that phone, and few others, at $225). The trade in valuations are a real joke if you check out Apple: brand new Macbook Pro for $220?!?

Good luck!

I do appreciate that you listed the CPU in the thread title (a laptop listing without a CPU in the title is basically incomplete in my estimation). Kudos on that.

However, do yourself and the thread a favor and switch the thread title to list the full EDU pricing. Otherwise the thumbs down are going to soar if only because the $59.99 price you've listed is a very specific scenario.

Perhaps consider:
Samsung EDU/EPP Galaxy Book Go - No trade-in $224.99 - Windows 10 Home | 14.0" | Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 7c Gen 2 | 4GB | 128GB | Silver (regular price $349.99)

Good luck!

i dont think you can pay 60 without a trade in... this works for me as i have like a 9 or 10 year old xps that i want to get rid of
I wanted to check and see if my XPS still actually boots (it has a board level GPU issue)... but then the price was still $112.49 because the EPP/EPP discount was reduced. (FYI to others: the XPS is offering a $125 trade-in value). I'm not convinced even that is cheap enough to get me interested enough to drag that thing and the unique hexagon power adapter up from the basement.

Good luck!
