I think the answer would be different for everybody.
Personally, I tend to keep my phones a while, but I decided to upgrade my 5 year old phone to the 5G Ace.

I wanted to keep my SD card slot & headphone jack, and for less than $300, there isn't anything that comes close to the specs on this phone. Decent camera (48mp), 6GB ram, Snapdragon 750G, and UNLOCKED which is super important to me.

Thanks. I bought my old school's custodian (sweet lady) A 2020 Stylus for Christmas last year and that's why I asked in case there is a decent upgrade available for a decent deal for this Christmas.

Moto G Pure is not worth $144. CPU is really slow and you will notice the lag with almost every task. Sometimes, it takes 5-10 seconds to respond when simply tapping a link in Chrome - depending on the website (nothing to do with network, CPU is too slow).

even the Moto E2020 is faster...looka the benchmark on geekbench

maybe the 5G Ace - has up to 2x better CPU benchmarks, slightly better battery and faster charging, plus the 5G.

camera, screen resolution, OS level are the same or similar - and no stylus on the Ace

depends on your usage - for gaming, 5G, and a slightly bigger screen, Ace is better.

if those are not important to you, not worth it at that price...neither are any of the others

I just bought the Pixel 5a 5g, arrives tomorrow -- does anyone know offhand how the 5G Ace compares?

The Pixel has a better camera and faster charging, but it's $120 more.
I would have rather had the pixel for the smaller size, but I went with the Motorola for the SD slot which the pixel doesn't have.

If you got through Motorola website you can also trade in phones much easier and more trade in value than Amazon. Also the 5% discount should bring it to equal prices.

Fwiw I went for the a52 5g with cricket instead of the ace. Oled and stereo speakers

I went to a corporate metro store for that $99 deal but they said I must have had over 6 months with my number. And it's 60 plus 10 for insurance - cricket ended up better suiting my needs.

I've been using a Moto G6 for 3 years and decided I wanted to upgrade this holiday season. The One 5G Ace is the phone that I _really_ wanted, both because of the headphone jack and microSD (as I have a large music collection). But the price hasn't come down as much as I'd hoped.

So I instead got the OnePlus 8 for $249 deal. I'm mostly satisfied with the purchase... but I'm already trying to figure out what I'm going to do with my music collection, since there's no microSD slot. I might just carry around my old Moto G6 as an mp3 player!

Load them on by connecting phone to PC. Or Google drive or whatever cloud storage. Also if you have Amazon prime you get the Amazon music app and can upload your collection.

fwiw I had the op 8 and didn't like it. went with the a52 5g which has a memory card slot.
I highly dislike iphone but why the heck can't android do what iphone does and let you play music through your USB- apple music was so simple. plug my iPhone in my car and no loss of quality while it's charging to boot. cmon android get with it. I have ZERO issues with a wired connection to my car and wired ear buds !!

Love my Ace 5g, best phone I've owned( and I have an iPhone 13.) We have two more on our 5 line plan as well. Works great, fast, fingerprint scanner flawless, also easily rooted!

The G Pure price is not slick. Xfinity sells this phone for $6.24 per month and that's not a discounted price. The G Pure is intended to replace the Moto E and offers an extra gig of memory.
