Bought this for bedroom a while back.
Viewing angle is really bad, anything much off center and colors fade considerably.
OK for bedroom when watching from front center but would not recommend for living room or any type of viewing at an angle.

Time to replace the 32" in the bathroom. Ordered one and a cheap wall mount.

Pre pandemic Black Friday, had 55 inch in $200 range or less back in 2020 and 2019. But so far, this is the best decent deal I've seen
Pre-pandemic BF would have been Nov 2019 or before. 2020 was basically full pandemic as immune boosting shots weren't really fully available until mid-2021.. So if a TV was a good deal last Black Friday, prepandemic could just be left out of the thought. Supposedly the supply shortages are due to a "booming comeback" as some people tell us, so many people are buying everything in sight because they're doing so well and production just hasn't caught up! Or, we can blame the tariffs, or we can blame the worker shortages, or we can blame inflation. I mean every post seems to always be someone saying it's covid, it's this, it's that. Just vote on the deal now, you don't see people complaining much anymore about how a McDonalds hamburger used to cost 15 Cents in 1940...

I bought one on July 4 deal. Mine is an Android TV, not a Roku version. This TCL TV quality is really poor, much worse than my previously bought Sharp TV (it is a 65" TV bought for about $600 back in 2019). I do not recommend buy this TV.

I have several tcls. My 75" 4k broke but they fixed it once i complained on bbb. I am not a big belieiver in buying high end tvs as the tech advances so fast. It is not like buying high end speakers, cars, watches, diamonds, art.

Buy this and in a few years spend another 200 and you will get a better tv then spending 400 now.

Is the following deal at Costco for the Hisense worth the extra $110 for Full array 4K TV?

https://slickdeals.net/f/15445150-costco-members-55-hisense-55r7g5-4k-uhd-roku-hdr-smart-tv-360-free-shipping

The only problem with full array is that you get way deeper blacks but at the expense of higher DSE. With Costco, 90 days return if you are not happy plus 4 year warranty,

The problem withthe TCL is a bit too much of a glossy screen and I would only buy the six series.

55 is right size and worth the extra 100 with deeper blacks.

The Target sale last week for $300 for 65" make this look like peanuts. I got it for my mom. I wish I can get another one.

Just wanted to pop in here and say, for what they are people seem to like the price/features ratio of TCL 4 series TVs, which I can get on board with generally. I myself have a 2017 49in 4 series model (49S405) that I'm still using in my living room today. SD helped me get a great price (especially for back then) on Target circle (with some sort of strange in store coupon stack IIRC) + 5% RedCard of $255 out the door I believe it was. Pretty happy with it actually, especially thrilled with 4K picture to this day for the price I paid. All things considered was quite well reviewed at the time:

https://www.tomsguide.com/us/tcl-...-4989.html

Image quality seemingly hasn't decreased since then but quality control and/or general internal parts quality sure has on TCL TVs. Take it from me, I've said it before on here but I work for Best Buy (goes without saying but all opinions are my own, not representing them) and I hear reports multiple times a month there from people about their 4 series TCLs going dark at like a year and two months or some nonsense. I think either they might have just been built a bit better a few years back or (more likely) I got lucky with my set because it is almost five years old now.

Take this for what it's worth, but I honestly wouldn't myself buy a TCL set today without some sort of extended warranty as such. Also have HEAVY personal preference towards a Roku TV for a budget platform vs Android or Fire, but again that's just my own opinion.
