These bottles look nice but dent so easily. I've had much better experience with my kleen kanteen bottles than my hydro flask. Once dented, the insulation doesn't work well
Project Farms tests insulated water bottles: https://youtu.be/a6j1NJkNzwI

It includes drop tests etc, good video for comparing against different brands for anyone in the market for one!
The vacuum (space between) the two metal walls end up touching when dented allowing for heat transfer into or out. Usually, most heat transfer through the lid - but if the walls become compromised it allows it to go through where the dent is as well.

Durability isn't really on hydro flask but they do hold temps well when it's not banged up.

What makes this different than the standard 24 oz standard mouth bottle other than the cap?

I honestly wonder what the science is behind this. The whole, dent = doesn't work efficiently anymore.

Oh ok, so we're talking like BIG damage. Cause the space between the walls are pretty thick, a dink or two isn't going to have the walls touch each other I would think.

Thinking logically; a dent will reduce the space between the walls, hence reducing the insulation in that spot. So I don't think the walls need touch in order to be less efficient than when new.

I can agree to it being less efficient.

But I imagine it being minimal, would it show up on an infrared camera even is what I'm wondering. We talking a couple hours, minutes, or seconds from the original time?

I still have my Klean kanteen from over a decade ago. Dented but works great still. Guess I will stick with that brand.
