The reviews (far too many to read them all) are varying in their appreciation of this version - and further, the reviews may actually span various versions and are clumped together.

Yeah, at this point I'll wait for 4K UHD or even just a streaming 4K at <$10.

I loved the book Dune.
I loved this movie when it 1st came out.
I still own both the book & the movie.

I finally was able to talk my wife into watching it with me (she loves the Hobbit & LOTR). We turned the movie off after about 15 minutes. It has not aged well.

On an unrelated note.. Being that we're at the 20th anniversary for Lord of the Rings, I wonder if it'll age better than Dune another 20 years from now.

Part 1 of the new Dune movie directed by Denis Villenueve was excellent, so you'll have to show her that. Hopefully Part 2 will go into production soon.

The best version to follow the books was the one done by the Sci- fi channel in 3 parts, in my opinion.
