Is it even worth recharging these? I'm all for reducing waste. But I can't get a straight answer for where to recharge as they all say it costs about $20 to do it. Might as well recycle it.

$20 to recharge if you have to use it to put out a fire is a small cost.

Only if you can find a place to do it cheaper then buying a new one.

I don't think you're reading it right.

$20 to recharge when you can buy a new one (or 2-pack) for $15. I have two in the house, one in the garage, one in the kitchen. Rotating them when used would be easy until the next promo shows up.

Quite a few of these in Havertown, PA on the upper shelves. Just bought a APC UPS. Would these work or do I need a D rated fire extinguisher?

I blundered into these by luck yesterday in Salem, OR. I was going to post the deal here, but I searched first and it seems I'm quite late to the party! Anyway, I got three. We had a motorhome fire this summer that has me more conscious about fire safety. OUR FIRE EXTIGUISHER FAILED!!! That's about the worst feeling you can have, especially in the heat of the moment. We were very fortunate to have been towing a boat at the time, so the boat had another extinguisher that saved our bacon. Motorhomes tend to go up in flames fast.

Anyway, after having an extinguisher fail to operate (turns out it had been recalled) even though it passed inspection by the firemen, it suddenly doesn't seem like a bad idea to have TWO extinguishers everywhere instead of just one. Call me crazy...
