To my knowledge, Dual Sims are International Versions. Samsung will not sell it directly to consumers here. Correct me if I'm wrong.

This model is not dual sim.

Nope. All North American models (the ones that end in U) have non-unlockable bootloaders. The only way to get any access to TWRP and/or custom roms is to contact one of the two people who have access to purchase the 'token' from Samsung and then through a VPN connection directly to your computer they flash it to your phone with a 'custom' version of ODIN. According to SAMPWND it's only currently working if the phone is still on BL V1. I have BL V2 so I don't get to play with root... :( Also, the cost to get it done is $100. That's actually pretty good if what they're saying is true. Several trusted members of XDA have confirmed that it worked for them but noted that if you were to update the phone at any point through Samsung you will lose root access permanently. I've been trying to get root on this S20+ since I got the thing. That's actually my only complaint so far.

See my post. Refurb directly from Samsung in my past experiences have been brand new items. This being two-year old device (release cycle but on paper) could mean liquidation of the rest of the stock

Insurance will be through your carrier (or possibly your CC company.)

Pretty good deal here. This phone is much better than the s21 plus as far as build quality and screen quality. This screen is 1440p.

My S9 seems to be performing well. Is the tech leap worth the upgrade?

In theory it has an eSIM in addition to the physical sim, but it's disabled in the US variant as of now.

Yeah, the phone has a longer lasting battery, a faster screen refresh rate, and better camera. Plus it retains of the S9's functionality (besides the dedicated headphone jack). I think you'd be happy with the upgrade.
