Explore the laws and theories of physics in this accessible introduction to the forces that shape our universe, our planet, and our everyday lives.

Using a bold, graphics-led approach, The Physics Book sets out more than 80 of the key concepts and discoveries that have defined the subject and influenced our technology since the beginning of time. With the focus firmly on unpacking the thought behind each theory-as well as exploring when and how each idea and breakthrough came about-five themed chapters examine the history and developments in specific areas such as Light, Sound, and Electricity.

Eureka moments abound: from Archimedes' bathtub discoveries about displacement and density, and Galileo's experiments with spheres falling from the Tower of Pisa, to Isaac Newton's apple and his conclusions about gravity and the laws of motion. You'll also learn about Albert Einstein's revelations about relativity; how the accidental discovery of cosmic microwave background radiation confirmed the Big Bang theory; the search for the Higgs boson particle; and why most of the universe is missing. If you've ever wondered exactly how physicists formulated-and proved-their abstract concepts, The Physics Book is the book for you.

Series Overview: Big Ideas Simply Explained series uses creative design and innovative graphics along with straightforward and engaging writing to make complex subjects easier to understand. With over 7 million copies worldwide sold to date, these award-winning books provide just the information needed for students, families, or anyone interested in concise, thought-provoking refreshers on a single subject.

Seems like this book isn't one of their best. Based on the reviews there are errors in the book that show they didn't give it as much attention or effort as others in their series. Also seems people feel they turned it into an over complicated history book (where they even have extremely famous people's nationalities wrong). I saw this was on sale last night and decided based on the reviews to skip it
This book is more like history of Physics
You wouldn't end up understanding more about Physics after reading
Even if you don't need to understand physics, you should follow Feynman. He is "a character" (in the veins of Einstein). He's also just funny. I highly recommend Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feyman! if anyone is interested (not on sale right now, though, and also not a physics book).

Regarding this book, for $2, so long as you know what you're getting into, it's a worthwhile buy. (It has been on sale a few times, but I finally bit the bullet this time around.) It isn't really a physics book, and there are errors. For standard DK books, it's not good and is definitely one of their misses, but at the same time, it's more than okay for a $2 book. There is enough good info that you won't be wasting $2.

Thanks for the information. I looked at Amazon sample pages, seems this kind of books are best in paper. Kindle version looks terrible.

Is there anything that explains physics principles with hypothetical (or real) scenarios well that is somewhere between "too simple" and an actual physics college course? I'm trying to find books that are basically in the middle. I guess similar to Veritasium or VSauce Youtube Channels but more in-depth.I basically want to know as much as I can without too much math if that makes sense.
