OnePlus is a nightmare to deal with. Worst customer support I've ever had the misfortune of dealing with. Wasted countless hours dealing with support over literally 2 months, had to send my phone in twice and lost a $20 Dbrand skin in the process. Issue was never actually resolved, and they refused to replace the phone. They'll forever be on my shit list now.
Thanks to itxjustin for the steps to make the phone SIM-free (unlocked to use on other carriers).

1. Turned the phone on without sim
---- Connect to WIFI --
2. Went to Settings, Connections
3. Select Network Unlock
4. Select Permanent Unlock
5. Done
6. Update to Android 11
7. Check with a non-TMO SIM to see if you can make and receive calls.
I had this phone for almost a year and a half. It was great at first but now it gives a "not responding" message every so often. Also gets a lot hotter than it used to.... I bought it for $400 awhile ago so I'm not complaining. I love the hypercharge feature, every phone should have it.

I think it's still a good phone for $250 but just know there are issues with it.

I bet next year, folks will be able to trade this phone out for a 9 using similar deals from this year with little out of pocket.
Why spend more than you have to right. I wouldn't ever pay top dollar for a phone. It's just not that important to me.

There's an option to add a black bar the top of the screen where the front facing camera is located. The phone's pretty tall, so you can work around the placement if it's bothering you.
Thanks. I'm fine with the punch hole design. Just think the placement of it is dumb. Don't think the masses complained about a centered camera, ever. Just stupid engineers and product designers that live in theory and not reality.

That's how hotspot works. There's nothing to "fix"
you may misunderstand me: I wanted to share internet using Wi-Fi to others devices though my oneplus phone. But this oneplus only allow share internet using mobile data, not Wi-Fi.

Here is the information when I turn on hotspot: "Wi-Fi is turned off when usb tethering or mobile hotspot is active. To turn on Wi-Fi, please turn off usb tethering or mobile hotspot pot" .

How I can turn on both hotspot and Wi-Fi, so I can share internet through Wi-Fi?

Well, kind of the point, my friend wanted a new phone, and she had the 6t. Doesn't qualify as a "qualified trade in" for deals. Yet it had trade in value to get the 8 which in turn has 3x its paid value as a trade in for a new phone. So you paid about $200 to get an extra $400 off a new phone that would he more desirable than this one. And honestly, with 128gb on board with no expansion, it's highly gimped and couldn't be a daily driver for many.

Same reason why my Note 20 went to my mom, because she can live with that. I can't. This phone is purely a backup for me that can get me trade in value for a future phone where my s8+ with major screen burn had almost zero value.

I think they understand what you're saying. What you're saying just doesn't make sense, and no phone in earth does it.

What you're suggesting makes no sense and no phone does this. You're saying you want to take wifi, and rebroadcast it as wifi for other devices to connect to. Why wouldn't you just connect them to the wifi the phone is connected to?

That's why the phone can't/doesn't do this. It'd be a useless feature

That's how mobile hotspots on your phone work. When hotspot is enabled (and allowed by your carrier), wifi is turned off, and hotspot is enabled for other devices to connect via wifi to your phone, and then, onto the internet via your cell phones data carrier (LTE/5G, etc). I'm just putting out this simple info as you seem to be getting things confused. What exactly is your goal, as I'm not understanding it, just say what you want your phone to do, and someone here will tell you if you're barking up the wrong tree.

Good luck. They ship the box with FedEx. It took 6 days to get it. I returned the phone the next day to Texas and it took FedEx 7 Days to deliver it. They inspected it the 14th and I haven't heard anything since then.

Hope you have a better experience than I have
It's interesting. Before the checkout screen, there is some information about the trade-in process. It shows I have an option under my account to choose either box with a prepaid shipping label or my own box with a printable shipping label. So far I see nothing lol.

I hope you hear from them soon. I would take pictures from every angle possible to avoid any issues in case if I have to dispute the transaction.

Oneplus should've sent you an email confirming the trade in.

Goto to the Phobio site and put in your trade-in number and email . It will tell you everything you need to know about when they sent out the shipping box and the FedEx tracking number.

Dude. Do not criticize people when you yourself have no idea what you're talkign about.

If you're talking about a Note 9, you MIGHT be thinking of Samsung's Wifi sharing feature? Which is really niche and even Samsung barely supports it. That is NOT mobile hotspot. Mobile hotspot, on 100% of cellphones, shares your mobile data over Wifi.
