I got this on the last deal when it was $135. I upgraded from an aging Netgear Nighthawk R6700. It's been great!

Got one from Amazon on lighting deal and the difference is tax with Amazon and no tax from Motorola. Too much of a hassle to save $7 as I had to take this into Xfinity to activate it so not worth saving of $7 to go through that. But this is a great deal, TU if anyone looking to upgrade or needed a cable modem.

Solid modem. I had to return the first one for multiple disconnects per day. The replacement has been solid.
Currently showing 173 days of uptime with no disconnects!

I would not use a router-modem combo unit such as the CAX30, for reasons of practicality and upgradability. But, in general, I believe Motorola modems to be superior to Netgear in terms or reliability.

Thanks

You may find an inexpensive 3.0 unit but at this price I'd pay a little more to have the 3.1 for more long-term solution. This really is a solid modem.

No cable modem for fiber. Different type and many vendors don't allow byod modems for fiber.
