Epic store will have Loop hero for free for 24 hours from 12/20 11:00 EST to 12/21 11:00 EST. It is confirmed by two different people who correctly leak all the previous free games.
If you bought the game these days during the sale on epic store, I think you can simply refund it by chatting with customer service.

Well, they gave GTA V away though it's been eight years since it was released. Damn... The last main GTA was published eight years ago, man, that's way too long. Where's GTA VI, R*? lol
I like it best when they give away low-commitment indy-games. More likely to actually try them over games that I decided again years ago.
