This year Dell has redesigned the case for the XPS Desktop lineup. 8950's case is bigger than previous generation and actually having better airflow. Check the attached image

motherboard would need to go to. it's proprietary form factor. you're looking at a minimum of $400 that you'd need to spend, since ddr5 motherboards are still expensive

didn't realize how expensive ddr5 was. Almost 70% more than ddr 4. Almost worth it to just upgrade right now since it doesnt look like its coming down any time soon

DDR5 as it stand now does not add any significant benefit over DDR4 in a lot of use cases specially gaming. Not worth the price hike at least for some more time.
