I'd try and match or go thicker on the wire gauge that you splice in. I'd either solder the wires together and use shrinkwrap or use an outdoor-rated wire connector.Something like this [amazon.com], but maybe get only some that match your gauge if you don't need different sizes for other projects.
Other outdoor that would work:
- option 2 [amazon.com]
- option 3 [amazon.com]
- option 4 [amazon.com] (overkill??)
- option 5 [amazon.com]

And yeah, I'm just going to be adding a whopping 3 inches to each wire, so no issue on length. I've got tons of wire nuts and shrink-wrap connectors from other projects, so all I'd need is to get some extra wire.
I went ahead and ordered the amp/speakers. I've got a month before it ships to come up with a reason to cancel it.

If you like some punch to your sound, then you definitely will need to get an outdoor sub to supplement the speakers. My Atriums were too light on bass for my taste and I got an outdoor sub (look into Outdoor Speaker Depot or Parts Express) - big difference. You will need another amp to power the sub as most outdoor subs are passive.
Also -- if anyone doesn't need their speakers, I'm looking for a couple extra. DM me!
