Right now Adorama has the Squier Affinity Precision PJ Electric bass on sale for only $230 (about $70 off the same price at other retailers, such as Fender, Guitar Center, Sweetwater, etc.). Squier Affinity Series Jazz Bass Electric Guitar in brown sunburst is also $230. Shipping is Free. When I bought mine last night, Express shipping (1-3 business days) was still free.

fyi it's easy to tell the 2021 new affinity (better) and old ones by color. This color scheme is not available for 2021 so it's obviously an older model. also 230 was like the normal price for these a few months ago before the multiple fender price hikes. i do not think this is particularly a good buy IMO
You're full of crap. I bought a used Affinity Jazz off of Ebay and wound up using the neck in a build, sold the body. It played great, and if the neck hadn't been Very good (fretwork etc) I wouldn't have used it.
Sure there's always a chance of getting a lemon out of any run of basses, but a lot of people have been very pleased with their Affinities.
At this price this is Slick.
I've had an expensive Warwick for 15+ years, but the other bassist at my church plays this exact red squier affinity PJ. His bass is awesome. Fretwork feels good. Pickups sound great and are well balanced. I love playing it. If I hadn't already spent too much on my basses, I'd go for this in a heartbeat. If anyone wants a good all around bass and isn't a brand snob, pick this up. It will work for the vast majority of bassists out there.

Haven't played bass in years. My father in law was looking at some used gear for a student he's teaching, for this price I can buy a new one. Good find IMO.

I have heard decent things about the Affinity series, but haven't bought one. Last year bought a Squire Classic Vibes Fretless Jazz bass which has actually been really solid (costs ~$450), but required a full setup. I have heard that is pretty common - needing a setup on these things. But for the $ they are really pretty solid, and tend to be easy to mod and upgrade over time to get even better sound and performance.

Apparently the newest Squier affinity series are great quality. Not sure what year this is though.

The Affinity line had a poor reputation but quality has improved as of late. Quality can be hit or miss on low-cost imports (parts such as tuners, tone/volume pots, bridges and pickups are usually cheap) but there is very little manual production these days due to CNC machines. As mentioned earlier, it's very easy to replace parts on these instruments. Seems like a good deal to me and I've been playing bass for many years.

I'll never understand why people buy these Squiers....they are truly cheap garbage. a much higher quality used instrument can be had for far less money...and, will be able to be resold, later on, if you decide to upgrade. ain't nobody buying used squiers... but, hey...to each his own.

guitarcenter.com gets 50+ new used squier guitars and basses listings every single day.

So that means people are buying them 0-day and people are selling them 0-day as they upgrade -- high volume.

Check the fender slickdeals. Most people cant afford Fenders any more so they brag about Squiers.

Oh you mean this guitar, not literally what year. 😁 wouldn't blame you if the latter though.
