Coupon Policy:

Hy-Vee is happy to redeem your coupons. The following rules apply when accepting vendor coupons clipped from newspapers or magazines, received by mail, or obtained legitimately from the internet:
  • The coupon must be legible.
  • The coupon should have a scannable bar code (UPC) and a remittable manufacturer’s address.
  • Coupons must have an expiration date and must be used within the stated time frame. Expired coupons will not be accepted.
  • Only one vendor coupon per item will be accepted. However, a customer may use a vendor coupon in combination with a Hy-Vee coupon on the same item.
  • Coupon values that exceed the price of the item will not be accepted.
  • Soft drink container caps will be accepted.
Due to increased fraud, the following two additional rules apply to internet coupons:
  • Vendor coupons that involve any kind of free product will not be accepted, including “buy one, get one free” offers.
  • A Store Director has authority to set monetary limitations (for example, $2.50 per coupon) for the acceptance of internet coupons at the Store Director’s store.

Are you all in bigger areas. I shop in Denison Iowa, which has maybe 8,000 people. We can price match any store within 30 miles at Hyvee and Fareway, even Walmart and dollar general.
Nope, I'm talking about the HyVee in Algona, population 5,500. Nearest Wal-Mart is about an hour from me. There is one slightly closer to Algona but still about 45 minutes away.

UV Vodkas are 9.99 this week. Saw some with hang-tags for a $5MIR when you buy 1 750ml or larger bottle, =$4.99 after rebate.

For those of us with a Fareway nearby, their Birdseye Voila skillet meals are 2/$5 this week. With the $1.75 off coupons available (see printable thread), $0.75 is a nice price. They're normally $3.99 at Wally World here.

I PM'ed at Wally World yesterday EEK!, thinking there would be a better selection, but my kids' favorite (the chicken pot pie) was OOS there too.

OT, but to anyone else with Fareway, do your stores decline coupons for more than half off the value of the item? Only one store does this here - and I've only had it happen with one manager there who I now avoid akin to the plague, but I generally just avoid this store all together now.

I can't find the Birdseye Voila meals in the ad...do we all get different ads maybe? I would love to get this as the meals are easy and we really like them.

I was thinking you're near DM? Maybe the ads differ, but we have them here in Iowa City/Coralville/Cedar Rapids ad. It's in my frozen section and not at all obvious.

Yep, love it! The key is to really watch the prices carefully and use your discount to FILL UP your car, not just to put a few gallons in because that saves you the most. A lot of the items in the fuel saver ad aren't good deals, and I'm sure they are banking on people not realizing that. What I usually do is take the cents off and multiply it by how many gallons I'll potentially fill up with, then deduct that amount from the sale price of the item. If it's equal to or less than what I would normally pay for that item then I will consider purchasing it. You can use coupons on those items and it won't affect the fuel saver thing. I usually find a few things to buy each week and you can always buy multiples of the better deals to maximize it too.

I find that it's more of an additional "tool" to use in my savings arsenal than it is any phenomenal deal...less money to the gas budget, more to the grocery budget... Wink

Gotta agree with you there. I only buy the items if its a good deal and if I would probably buy them anyway. So far there haven't been too many items that I would use.

I am trying to be sure to take along our 5 gallon gas can when I make the run to fill up using the fuel saver card. The savings is good for up to 20 gallons, but the most I've even gotten in hubby's car is 16 gallons, and my car's tank is even smaller. So I'll put the extra in the gas can and save as much as possible. Also, be sure to keep track of when you earned the savings. It expires after 30 days so you gotta use it or lose it.

Today's Fuel Saver ad has $.88 sour cream, get 2 cents off and $3.99 Angel Cake, get $ 10 cents off.

Probably the cheapest deals I've seen yet without coupons.

Does anyone have match-ups for the baby sale Feb. 3-16th? And how do those prices compare to say, Walmart's prices?

What kind of prices are you finding? Cheapest I found at just one Hy-Vee was $2.89 on a couple different kinds. I haven't looked for MQs yet though.

I was wondering if the $5 off 5 lunchables would work on the smaller sizes! there are no sizes listed on the coupon....

I've been finding pink peelies for $2/2 any GM cereal at Walmart for a few weeks. Hoping for a small money maker. ;-)
