The ones I received from the last FP had great welds. No problem at all.
It can lift high enough to clear the tires off the ground.

The posted stands, T-6903D, have a range of:
11-3/8" to 16-3/4"
If you do have a lift, go with these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074R17GL4/
The T-6906D, have a range of:
16" to 23-1/2".
I have a 7" lift on my Silverado and need the T-6906D.
Even better stands are ESCO brand stands like these:
ESCO 10498K https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EAW6E8A/
or
ESCO 10498 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0019JVIPM/
Both with a range of 13" to 21-1/2".
Be careful ordering the 10498K, the one with bonus axle support post. Amazon's inventory was screwed up and they were sending the 10498 without the extra post. It took me 6 orders to get 2 stands with both posts. Reviews also mention this error. This was 3 years ago, so it's possible to be corrected now.
If you put only one foot on the bathroom scale, and keep the other foot planted, it won't be 100% of your weight that reads out. Thats what hes trying to get at. Try harder.

Thanks for all the info, repped!
If you use both of these jack stands, your vehicle would need to weigh less than 6k lbs total.
If you want to lift both the front and back, most people use two pairs of jack stands to do that because it provides more stability. Pairs are used to lift up one end or one side of the car.
Also keep in mind that if you're lifting only one side or end you're not lifting the total weight of the vehicle.
In fact, if the vehicle is 50/50 weight distribution front/rear, you are lifting less than half since the end on the ground is lower. The higher you lift it, the less weight you are lifting, although arguably not substantially less in the height range we are discussing.
On a related note, most current vehicles are between 60/40 and 50/50. I'm sure there are exceptions, but you'll know it if you have one. 3 ton stands are more than sufficient if the height range meets your needs

Like should my car be under 3 tons or 6 tons?
Also my intuition tells me I'd need only one pair, lift front only or back only… so do you make sure the total weight capacity is less than half the car? Since half the car is still on the ground?
They are 3 ton per stand. Any normal car shouldn't weigh more than 5k lbs.

3 tons as a pair
I've had both the Arcan and Daytona jacks. The Arcan worked on a CRV but was leaking hydraulic fluid on delivery. At the time there was no Costco in my state so I could only mail it back (a hassle given the box was fluid stained and hard to re-tape). So I used it to do what I needed it for and sent it back.
With a local Costco I might have just exchanged. Was a decent jack.
Ended up with the yellow Daytona. Between the 2, the Daytona feels more heavy duty. But it was also $179 when I got it less than 2 years ago. That's quite a price increase to $270 so I'm not sure what I'd end up with today given that price.
Didn't try the Arcan with the Odyssey but the Daytona handles it without issue and I've been happy with it.
A truck sure. Not any truck.
😂
Usually these are rated per pair so if it says 3 ton for the pair it's really 1.5 ton each. If you buy a single 3ton it's 3ton each. Read the specs before using em!

Also, since it was leaking when you got it, you either got a lemon or it needed some work.
