If you can afford the difference, then get the Vitamix over a Blendtec every time. I bought a Blendtec 6-7 years ago, a classic model like this, and the motor started giving me trouble just a few years in. It would literally overheat. I tried my best to clean it but the issue persisted.

And I kid you not, I'm not making this up, 2-3 years ago, my jar exploded in the middle of blending a smoothie. I don't know if it had just been washed and the content was too cold. Blendtec apologized and offered me a new jar but every time I look at it, I'm reminded of it literally blowing up in my kitchen. Maybe I'm a nervous fellow but the shards could've flown in my direction and cut me up or killed me in some freak accident.

And to answer the most mundane question, compared to the Vitamix, it doesn't give you as fine of a texture. Almost no seeds in a smoothie - a consistent creamy consistency out of a Vitamix. Blendtec needed constant plunging just to blend.

Awesome, thanks! My 12 year old Blendtec is still going strong, but my jars are failing after many years of use, so this deal is essentially giving me a free backup blender!

And this may spark up the usual Blendtec vs. Vitamix discussion..... I have both and I love both, but for small amounts of thick blends or making sauces and mayo etc., the Twister jar is the perfect tool and out of everything, that's what I use the most on a daily basis.

BestBuy: TD. The item: TU. The price: TU.

TU overall!

We use this blender for many years. Way better and cheaper than comparable Vitamix

Great blender. Terrible jar design. FYI you will use the warranty on the jars when the bearings fail and leak. I decided to get a Vitamix a few months ago. Very happy.

Will it blend? That is the question.

I have this same blender for about 10 years now.. great unit and no problems. Has with any blender, clean the jar by hand, and let it dry, after use.

Love the product. Disappointed in the lower warranties provided now. I got a 7 year warranty and had to use it on the jar. Would not hesitate to get another once the warranty was up if they kept the 7 year warranty.

Just used ours this morning and was pestering my wife about how much shit she gave me 10+ years ago when we bought ours and I spent $350ish on it. 2800 cycles later and she is a believer. That said, one of my jars started failing a couple years back, they wouldn't replace it even though the jar was defective, then they told me my old blender wasn't compatible with the new jars (not true), and the best they could offer me was a coupon for some percent off a new one. Got the coupon, it was only off full price and was a worse deal than the current sales. A+ for quality of blender, B+ for quality of jars, C- for customer service.

I've had mine since 2014 with the wildside and twister jars. After 2600 cycles, my jars are still holding up. I've only ever hand washed them.

I am at over 2K cycles strong but this is a great deal. In addition with the comments of jars failing I have a sneaky suspicion they are not being hand washed. 🤔

How do you compare this with Vitamix?

Thanks! I'm considering it. I bought ours about 5 years ago and just had to throw out our wildside+ jar a couple weeks ago after I ended up with melted black rubber in a smoothie from some part just under the blade. I think we're only up to 600-700 uses, and yes, it was only hand washed the entire time since we don't even own a dishwasher. After seeing the price of a replacement jar, I might as well just buy a brand new one at this price.
