If you are not into Festool then this isn't a good deal. But for Festool fans this set is $275 everywhere else.

yeah welcome to the ripoff that is festool
Is this just the plastic boxes? No tools?
Dewalt = construction, Festool = woodworking. I use Festool for dust collection / sanding / track saw / domino when I do woodworking like tables and cabinets, but I have Ridgid for all my "construction" tools. Each tool and company has its own strengths/markets, you shouldn't blindly compare them. That said I've never seen a real world contractor roll to a job site with 100% Festool.

Pretty good price, TBH. Too bad there's no wheels, but there's a set of clamps and a nice work surface, as well as a small parts organizer.

Have no use for this, but would've definitely bought if I did.

I used just about every Festool tool they made at the time. Dust collection is top notch and worth the price if that's what you're looking for. Other than that, I wasn't overly impressed. There drill was brushless matched with a ni-cad battery (should be lithium all the way). It had that large piece in the front of your hand. This made it impossible to get into tight spaces. Their routers had more bells and whistles, but performed the same as any other high end routers. The routers also were bulkier in size. This made routing smaller pieces a pain. The vacuums were nice, but the price of bags was on the high side.

If I had respiratory issues or low dust job requirements, this would be my choice of tools.

This is the exact reason why I get them, for the dust collection. Don't really care about their drills. Still use my dewalt even though I own the TXS AND CXS.

A lot of festools stuff is worth the money. But there is a lot of other overprice stuff. The systainer is a rip off but if 100% of your tools is festool, then it makes sense especially if you work on jobsites

A lot of their tools comes in a systainer. While I wished more of the major brands would sell their tools that way, it isn't common.

Bosch lboxx and systainers are very euro. Their not as durable as a DeWalt box Ridgid or Milwaukee. However their much more streamlined and fit through narrow hallways with less chance of damaging the walls.

The dewalts are great for rough heavy work. They have water resistant gaskets and even pressure release valves. Systainers are not. Though their locking and stacking method is much more convenient.
I only have one damn festool but it needs like 2 other boxes to store the domiplate and all the dominos itself. I mean one of the really big dominos came in it's own box. I guess you get what you pay for, sorta. The only reason I have the domino xl is because nobody has anything else that can do what it does. I've heard things like oh the patent is expiring, etc . But like with most cheap tools you give up precision.

Festool on a job site? Ha, Hilti yes, Festool no. Festool is for retired guys to stock their backyard shop with "the best" or hipsters making "bespoke" walnut cutting boards. Most job sites have Milwaukee, Dewalt or Hilti and they all get beat to hell and replaced every few years if not sooner.

*Post is mostly just for fun but has some truth to it Smilie

Festool is mostly for finish carpentry. Hiliti has a lot of specialty tools as well. Milwaukee and DeWalt because they come at the right price point and durability.

If you've Ever Used or Owned a Festool product I doubt you'd say that. I'm a Professional Cabinetmaker. I HIGHLY recommend Festool. You get what you pay for.

The only people that I ever see using Festool are YouTube channels that get it for free to promote it. I am hoping to get to that point and get some free stuff. I've a long way to go with just 1000 subs though! I dream of one day being showered with free Festool stuff. Oh and SawStop stuff too.

The guys I see using these are electricians, finish carpenters, and engineers with very light duty tools.

If you're doing a lot of small, light duty work, and don't bash your stuff around, these work. It's funny that I always see these on a dolly.

I have pack out boxes. Most people on jobsites have packout boxes. I do have some of these in my shop holding all my woodworking materials.

The guy in this video (Mike Farrington) has some great ideas for storage optimization in his systainers. I'm planning on building similar inserts for my Packouts and Ridgids.

I am IBEW electrician work in commercial and Industrial work. I been on a lot of high end apartments never seen anyone carry festool on any I been on and I been doing this for 20 years. If you go to a wood working store you will see this stuff. Not on a construction site. Hilti is the primo brand. Personally I like Milwaukee a lot of contractors switched from Hilti to Milwaukee the stuff works DeWalt is also good. I like the packout system from Milwaukee it's expensive but it's well made and they constantly add to it. This stuff is for rich people who want to look important. Trades people use Hilti, DeWalt and Milwaukee.

I see a lot of serious pros using Bosch and Makita too. Watch the AVE break downs for each brand and you will see how they are built inside. Milwaukee has brilliant engineers but internally the construction is quite sloppy. Hilti is absolutely building stuff that lives up to its reputation. Makita and Bosch are a cut above the conglomerate owned Milwaukee and Dewalt when it comes to tools sold at big box stores

One thing to note- Festool has released their series 3 systainers. I think we will see more sales on the gen 2 stuff like this package.
