Just FYI..This requires 9.2 receiver..
1200 or so for a 9 channel receiver. This product doesn't make sense. 600 or even a 1000 in speakers and then spending 1200 on a receiver is absolutely backwards. The majority of your home theater sound budget should be spent on speakers. The greatest factor in your sound.
Well, technically it only requires a 9.1 unit, as there's only 1 subwoofer...

Edit: Please add Costco to the title, as you have to pay for a Costco membership to be eligible for this deal...

I see it on Amazon for $694 if thats a better option for anyone.

Edit: just noticed it was a 3rd party seller.

Time for the "compare this to my Pioneer Andrew Jones 5.1.2 atmos system" post.

Thanks, I'm a bit confused how the Dolby Atmos on this works with only 5 speakers? I should probably YouTube it to see. Was wondering if this is worth it compared to their reference towers or something like that Jamo set that's always on sale

Looks like the 4 surround speakers also have an up firing speaker built in. You'll run 2 pairs of speaker wires to each of those speakers hence the requirement for a 9.1 receiver (technically 5.1.4).

Yep, only thing I'd add is that you want to make sure you have the right type of ceiling for these I don't as the idea is they reflect the sound off of it have firsthand experience with these (I went with actual ceiling speakers for my 5.1.4 setup), but I've generally heard poor feedback about this style of Atmos (but it's probably better than nothing if you can't cut into your ceiling).

Completely agree and if you are going to bother to run wire, might as well make it count!

I think this issue falls on the receiver manufacturers. They all decided to draw the line at 7 surround/atmos channels. 7.2 or 5.2.2 receivers can be had for like $300, but the cheapest 9.2 or 5.2.4, even without pre outs, would top $1000. This might make sense when only the high end home theaters had Atmos, but none at all when Atmos gets cheap, especially when Dolby/speaker manufacturers are really pushing these Atmos enabled speakers.
