My 1gb plan promo ended last year and it went up to $70/month. I wanted to downgrade to a cheaper plan online, but had to call them instead. I spoke to a service rep and they kept trying to explain that the lower speed plans were more expensive than my current non-promo 1gb plan, which made absolutely no sense. Just skip the bs and ask to speak with someone from retention. They were able to give me the promo price of $50/month for another year. Hopefully I'm able to get this price again when the promo ends in a few months. My area does have a few ISP providers so ymmv.

I'm not 100 sure. I did not have one.
I moved my services to a business account a few years ago. For this, I wanted residential service (at the same address) because I wanted to keep my DSL on for a little while and I was also not sure how stable fiber was going to be since the whole system here is new.
Anyway, when I ordered the service, It said I did not have any services so they were going to 'qualify' me but it also said that they would not do a credit pull in a way that would affect my score and they would only look at their own records. So, you may come out the same way. There is a clear point in the order process where this happens. They should disclose to you if they are going to do a hard pull.

Some tips: Don't order it through internet, rather order through phone call. This way you can negotiate with the representative for a bigger rewards card. I got my fiber internet a month ago and at that time they were only offering $300 rewards cards so i negotiated a $400 card with the representative.
Edit: Once you receive your rewards card, you will get calls from scammers saying that they sent you wrong balance and will ask for the card details. DO NOT SHARE IT. The call sounded real as they knew exactly how much I got in reward cards and they called me on the phone number i provided to ATT. I fell for that scam and lost $150. Beware.

I don't get why people down vote a listing just because they don't have it available at their area or store. If it's a good deal then upvote and if it's a bad deal downvote. It's gotten so political with the voting it's ridiculous. Personally if you click on the listing because you think it's a good price probably you should give it an upvote. These are not correlated to whether you bought the item or not it's whether it's a good deal or not.
I signed up as well. Went super smooth. Got the 250$ card, but no 150$ in sight. I called CSR, they said to wait until after 30 days for all rebates to show, and if they don't call back. Speed it great, we got 300 mb plan, and get 375 up and down.
