i had some of these in our time mist deodorizer sprayers. had to replace the units because the corrosion inside wouldn't even make enough contact to get juice anymore with a new battery.
bought panasonic batteries locally, no issues at all. as SDers, it's tough to say no to what looks like a good deal. but no way do these batteries have a 10 year shelf life, and woot (aka amazon) is accused of selling fake batteries every time a battery deal for AMZ shows up.
anyone have like a rule of thumb for getting decent deals on non-fake batteries?
Do these batteries really have a 8 year shelf life before they corrode away?
I bought some Kirkland AA batteries from Costco and they started leaking in the package unused after a couple years Took them back and they told me that none of them last that long.
I've just been getting the home depot brand AA and AAA's. I have 4 game cameras that take 8, AA each and get replaced about twice a year.
I have tried all the popular brands and notice no real difference in how long they last. Even name brand Energizer and Duracell it doesn't make any difference.
The home depot ones are almost always right around this price per battery. (As long as you buy the biggest packages)
is it just me, but i find that more and more devices use the AAA type. It used to be all the way around but now most of my AA inventory is stable, and i keep having to buy the AA all the time.

Based on other threads, Kirkland uses Duracell which are notorious for leaking

Also saves $11.29 in case they suck. Just buy 1.

Batteries leak when they aren't used inside a device. Put any battery into something and use it rarely, it will likely leak
I hate to break this to you, but from personal experience, these are terrible batteries. They don't last and they leak.
