The slowest speed is super quiet, perfect for those hot summer days. It is made in china if anyone was wondering.
They're for different purposes really.
The Vornado is for pushing lots of air at once to regulate room temperature, while this is a more traditional fan to keep those sitting in front of it cool, not that it can't regulate room air as well.
The rowenta can also move a good amount of air while staying really quiet, which I really wanted for my home theater room which used to be in a sun room that got both hot and cold depending on the time of year.
A strong Vornado on high can probably move more air, but it would also be a lot louder.
The rowenta can still move a good amount of air on higher settings too, though
I'm so use to paying 20-30 for table top fan. Not to sound stupid but are these worth it compared to a typical oscillating fan?

Looks cheap for the asking price. I'm sure the only thing special about this fan, over a $10 Wally fan, is that the acoustics were taken into consideration when setting/programming the speed settings.
For roughly the same asking price, I think a DC Vornado is the better product. It carries a REDICULOUS 10 year warranty. Also keep in mind DC motors can do PWM signaling, which is what makes them so quiet and efficient at lower settings.
I owned the taller stand-up version of this fan and it's the best fan I've ever owned, by a large margin too. It's probably worth four times a standard fan, can't recommend it enough. Wish the taller one was on sale too, would buy multiples.
So I use small cheap USB fans on my nightstand at night and through the day. But as they get older they start to get plastic rattle, best I can describe it. The motor isn't as refined as it usually is. I assume something of this caliber/cost would probably last, be silent, and not suffer the same fate as a cheap plastic fan?
Used to be a Vornado fan (pun not intended). Owned about 8 or 9 of their products. All they got in common, a pain to clean. Then I switched to Rowenta. They may look not as cool as vornados but they work way better/quieter and cleaning is a breeze. Quality is higher too. I own a previous model floor standing Rowenta fan and love it.

I've had maybe the model before this one for 2 or 3 years and I LOVE it. So quiet.
