This comes out to 12.5¢/oz. For reference, generic EVOO at my local supermarket is 17¢/oz without any coupons or discounts

this company is very well known, to produce subpar products. Also is promoted by SD and Amazon employees every couple of weeks, so do your own due diligence...

Regarding the actual University study, these were the highlighted results:

THE BRANDS THAT FAILED THE TEST:

Pompeian, Bertolli, Colavita, Star, Sasso, Antica Badia, Primadonna, Carapelli, Mazola, Felippo Berio, Safeway, Whole Foods, Carapelli, Coricelli, Mezzetta

THE GUYS THAT PASSED THE TEST AND CAN BE TRUSTED:

Corto Olive, Ottavio, Omaggio, Bariani Olive Oil, Lucini, Kirkland Organic, Lucero, Olea Estates, McEvoy Ranch Organic, Cobram Estate, California Olive Ranch

Flavorwise I think Cobram Estates Select is very good, but it is pricey. For a cheaper option, I prefer Terra Delyssa over California Olive Ranch.

If you're going to get a national/generic brand of olive oil, not known for their exclusive production of olive oil, then you might as well just get a cheaper generic neutral oil.

We use this to grease the pans. Or in baked goods where the flavor isn't front and center. If you're making dressings or dipping bread, you want to up your game, but at this price it's a good utility oil.
