TSR-700 is a good receiver, especially at the release prices, but it's limited to 24gbps HDMI 2.1. This one has 40gbps. This means that you can do 4k/120hz/DV without limiting the chroma subsampling.

These are both Costco specific models:
TSR-700 = RV-V6A
TX-NR6050 =? TX-NR6100

Does this have full HDMI 2.1 at 44gbps or is it 22gbps like on the Yamaha TSR700?

EDIT: answered in the comment below this one.
Per a prior thread here:

Onkyo board does full 40 gbps.
Yamaha is capped at 24 gbps and that's if you get a Yamaha with fixed HDMI 2.1 board.

Has anyone had issues with the shipping? I bought it twice and both times they shipped it in its retail box which got banged up pretty badly with holes big enough to see the connectors on the receiver. I didn't want to chance wasting time setting them up so I returned them.
Costco shipping is horrendous. Something like this they should put inside another box with packing to protect it. They never do! Just worried about getting it out the door.

I just ordered one for pickup from their warehouse. Wondering if it makes any difference vs regular shipping and if it will arrive earlier or not..? Never done that before with them but wanted to try it out and see

I tried both Denon (Costco) and this and I'm coming from Sony dh770.

I didn't like Denon at all, but this Onkyo is great. So definitely this Onkyo vs Denon in Costco.

Bought this (and the Yamaha) on the Coscto citi credit card.

Not sure if the card extends the warranty 2 or 4 years in this case, but regardless with the excellent return policy I feel pretty comfortable.

Both seem great, but I'm going to keep which every one 'just works' and is easy to use for the whole family.

For whatever reason (maybe ad blocking or browser settings) that option is available for me but doesn't allow me to select any warehouses in SF Bay Area, CA...weird

I think the SF Bay Area warehouses disabled it because they don't have enough staff and space for it.

Worth noting because most Costcos in this area are converted from different warehouses and not originally built as Costcos.

edit: looks like they enabled it now!

I know nothing about audio, but I think this is the one that I keep seeing coming up here and I really want to pull the trigger.
Any recommendations for speakers to go with this?
Any regrets or concerns about the fact that this is 4K and for lack of a better term, not future proof for 8k?

I love mine. I ordered this last in stock round and it's great. I paired this with a hisense 65u8g and run xbox and a computer media center and this thing has been flawless 4k @120hz. Sound is great. I was surprised that it arrived without an outer box, but onkyo has it pretty well protected with Styrofoam in the actual product box. It did take me a second because im rather new to this that in ordered to run 4k @120hz you have to have 8k enhanced selected for the input on the receiver, sorry if thats a dumdum n00b move but just in case someone else has the same issue.

Denon vs onkyo for dual zone? I have a home theater setup in room 1 and have ceiling speaker for patio. Which one works best for dual zone?

It is 8K capable "8K with HDMI 2.1 40Gbps (3 ins)" But we haven't really seen what 8K TVs are really capable of yet and what kind of bandwidth they'll require.

Have had this for a few months now and it has worked flawlessly with my Jamo 5.1 setup. Zone 2 HDMI out is a nice bonus at this price point which I am yet to take advantage of.
