I saw a sign at my local Office Depot store for $15 off $300 Prepaid Visa card. I purchased a $200 Visa card (+ $6.95 fee) and a $100 Visa card (+$5.95 fee). After $15 discount, my total is $297.90. I paid with a credit card that gives me 5% cash back from office supply stores.

Office Depot did lots of prepaid Visa/Master card promotion like this one last year. But it was always out of stock when I stopped at the store. It seems that they have increased store inventory on prepaid Visa/Master cards this year as I was able to buy them twice this year (last month and this month) on a Thursday,

Most likely this deal is nationwide. Call your store to verify the deal and make sure they are in stock before you go.

Scan your reward card when making the purchase. Although it won't give you additional discount, your $297.90 total will be counted to qualify for VIP membership status - 30 days after spending $500 in the last 12 months, you will become VIP member and get free shipping with no minimum purchase.

You saved $2.10 on a $300 gift card = 0.7%?

Plus 5% credit cards points, which I assume are ultimate reward points which are worth more than $.01 each

I don't suppose there is a way to use this debit visa to pay off a credit visa is there?

I use these prepaid Visa cards to pay for my health insurance premium. My insurance company allows multiple payments per month. With 5% cashback from my credit card, I can get a small discount on my crazy health insurance premium.

They did this last week also (ended 4/2) and I did it.
I do like that it adds to your VIP points/status as well, to take you closer to $500 spend Big Grin!
Might do it again if they have another one soon Big Grin!
