The solution to the fingerprint issue is to add your fingerprint a bunch of times and it works much better. I added my thumbprint 4 times and now it works well

Trying to make sense to why Google Fi can offer $500 discount on a Samsung phone, but only $200 off a device made by Google.

Welcome to Google. The strategy is made by someone who has a Harvard degree and sure enough I don't understand either

I'm on the fence between a Pixel 6 and an S22. Most people seem to only really complain about the slow/inaccurate fingerprint sensor. But every now and then someone brings up the connectivity issues. How prevalent is this? I really like the Pixel line especially for photos and additional Google software, like Call Screening and Live Translation. But connectivity is crucial for me for both voice and data. How often do you have issues with poor/no signal?

Samsung's hardware just looks so much better on paper (even though their photos still lags a little behind) but I'm so iffy on their software. It annoys me when my wife hands me her S20FE to find something on her phone or change a setting.
Wow call screening is something I have been taking for granted on my Pixel 2XL, soooo useful. But I decided to get the S22 for the price. Like you said, on paper is seems like a better deal with the 3x zoom that the regular P6 lacks, but it the bloatware that will have to be removed.

I have a P6 and am happy with the fingerprint sensor. My previous phone was a P3XL and its sensor didn't work well unless absolutely clean. Maybe the P6 is a bit slower unlocking, but I really don't notice it.
In addition to Call Screening, another nice feature I'm using is Adaptive Charging to prolong the battery life. Initially my biggest issue with the P6 was its weight, substantially more than the P3XL, but I've gotten used to it.

Fi Pricing seems to be much less than I remember it being.. did it go down recently? I'm seeing $50/month for unlimited.

That's the same price I'm paying for TMobile (prepaid) unlimited. Any pros/cons of Google Fi in comparison?

So they will charge you the 200 bucks after x number of days if you don't meet the criteria?

It did. I've been on Fi since 2018 when I got a Pixel 2 through them, no complaints here. I came from AT&T and the coverage is just as good if not better and cheaper. I've been on the flexible plan as I rarely used much mobile data unless i'm having internet problems at home or i'm on a roadtrip, and it only charges you $10 per gig of data up to 6 gigs where it's unlimited from there. I've had bills less than $30 because I get the $20 for calls and text and have used less than a gig of data for the month. If I ran through a lot of data i'd probably switch to unlimited.

Agreed. Going from a Pix 5 to a Pix 6 pro - the fingerprint reader on the glass was no good for me. Some people think it's great, but try the reader on the 5 then tell me that. I gave it an honest try for months with every possible suggestion and workaround. There's no comparison. I went back to a 5 and sold my 6.
prob the only reason keeping me from getting the pixel 6 is the fingerprint scanner. alas, security updates have ended for my pixel 3 pro...hoping they'll bring it to the rear again for future models or upgrade to ultrasound

Just know that next time you don't get any deals.
Because Google now never gives discounts to existing customers.

Yes auto charge to google pay. If user doesn't pay. It gets reported to credit bureau and Google Pay get's blocked. Every single monetary transaction with Google will get blocked. From Play Store, Google Store, Ads, Youtube Premium everything stops.

With software update they made it worse for pixel 6 owners. I think it's more of hardware issue. I'm using a pixel 6 and I'm living with it. Even slightest amount of wetness in hands would break the fingerprint scanner. It is still 60% unlock rate for me. I'm just using pattern lock in 2022 lol
