As the first electric scooter product of NIU, a good Chinese brand that focus on electric mopeds, I would suggest to stay with Ninebot/Segway (owned by Xiaomi) for now. Ninebot is getting into electric moped market as well. Both brands are now the major competitors in electric moped and scooter market in China.

I had similar size models from xiomi and wal-mart brand through the past 5 years. Portable as in "take and carry everywhere with you"...no, def not optimal for that.

Can they easily fit in a car trunk and be hand-carried for a short amount of time & distance....absolutely.

Love these things...and just picked this one up.

That's pretty standard but as many complaints about the same issue I read on Reddit maybe there needs to be a specific push towards making scooters for the big and tall market.

What is the most affordable scooter?
Have a Razor ES300 - the handle does not fold! Putting it in the car is hard/impossible.
