I just got approved for this card and started using their virtual card. The actual card is still in mail and they have already charged me annual fees. Is this right? I dint read they charged annual fee upfront in advance for the year. Is this right?

yes, it's right. Annual fee cards always charge the 1st year fee upfront, unless the card offer specifically states the 1st year fee is waived.

Quote from mtnagel :
Yes, there is a "pay yourself back" for travel expenses and it's redeemed at 1% so 75k miles would be $750.

I did accidentally find out that if you do that and then cancel the expense (for example a refundable Airbnb rental), the credit goes back on your account so you've effectively converted the miles to cash at 1%.
Thanks, there was no clawback to point's or anything else later on? That's good to know as plans do change and it's good to know it's flexible

Anyone know if you get an instant virtual card to use immediately when approved? I have a big purchase coming up in 3 days which can't wait a week+ for the physical card to arrive.

Wasn't there a 900k offer link or is it only by specific users/referers? Just like how some amex users were given the Gold 900 offer back in march I remember.

Hi guys, I have 2 questions.
- "Earn 5X miles on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, where you'll get Capital One's best prices on thousands of trip options."
I'll book my hotel through Capital One Travel, and Booking.com gives me 10% off as its member. Am I eligible to earn 5X miles in this case anymore?
- "Miles won't expire for the life of the account and there's no limit to how many you can earn."
After a year my card is downgraded to a no annual fee card, Miles STILL won't expire, or I have to use it all before that time?

TIA

If you book through Capital One Travel, how does Booking.com come into play? It's a different engine/booking site. You book through one or the other.

If you downgrade to another card with miles then miles won't expire.
