I agree it's acceptable for $15 but an emergency radio really needs to be trustworthy.

I totally agree with you I bought several radios over the years from c-crane in Fortuna, Northern California
but I don't think C Crane is going to send you an empty box shipped for $15

eventually a battery dies even if not used. the best emergency radios do not have traditional electric batteries. Now the beyjin if kept out of the sun which makes things brittle, if it's not getting submerged in water or subjected ot to rain, etc, then it will be running 50 years from now. And that is not the case with the radio in this thread.
