I don't like that the 8GB RAM is 2 x 4GB instead of 1 x 8GB. Can't just upgrade to 16GB now by just buying another 8GB stick.
I see that there's an option to upgrade to 512 SSD for an additional $40. Probably this additional cost is worth it. However, it also allows upgrading to 512 GB Intel SSD + 32 GB Intel Optane memory for the same extra $40. So upgrading to either 512 SSD or 512 GB Intel SSD + 32 GB Intel Optane memory is the same cost. Which one of these SSD upgrade options is better though?
Excellent find. I've linked to this deal for those following the previous deal you mentioned.
Someone should link this deal from there then.

I'd take the plain 512GB SSD. SSDs are so fast nowadays that you don't need any gimmicks to "accelerate" them. And I am afraid you may end up with a slower SSD if you get the SSD+Optane option. Just a hunch though.

i dont understand computers at this price range. overpriced for a basic web browser/streamer, lacks upgradeability for anything requiring a 6 core cpu
Pretty much. It's one thing when the HP Walmart bundle clearance was $150-250 w/ 24" monitor. But, also the reason these products linger around, go on sale, etc.

HP has excellent sales on desktops.

I went through my perks at works account, but I didn't receive an additional discount. I haven't ordered yet. How did you get one?
For those wondering what this will be used for... Replacing a 6th gen NUC for Plex... These have quick sync and should work pretty well.
