I'm a huge fan of this compressor. Portable when needed, much quieter than your cheap pancake compressor. I've been very happy after 6 years of ownership. I mainly use for inflating tires and running nail guns.

I returned this to get the two gallon. You're not going to be framing or roofing at pro speeds with either unit. Both will cover enthusiast/hobby use or trim carpentry.

The 2 gallon is cheaper, lighter, and refills faster.
I was going to say almost the exact same thing. Except 8 years for me. So another vote from me.
This has a pretty powerful motor and puts out more than ones with a larger tank.
If you need a larger tank model just buy this and add a extra tank. Or like did. Add just the tank from a old broken air compressor.
But this is already good enough for most things.

According to CCC this is the lowest Amazon price on this item since 2016 or so - usually runs around $320 there. Thanks for sharing.

My dad has this one and it's great, quiet and pretty powerful.
I have the big mac5200 and it's a beast. Quite a bit louder, but wayyy more powerful.

Mine is about 8 years, no complaints. The delivery did manage to bust the oil pump on the first unit, had to order the second one with pick up from Home Depot.

Bought mine just over 10 years ago for $299.99. Been great. Use it several times a week, it's fairly quiet, I have it on the far end of the attached garage, and while you can hear it in the house, it's not annoyingly loud like my previous one. Mostly just air to clean stuff with it. Need to take occasional breaks with pneumatic tools, but it does okay, been switching out anything I use often for battery tools anymore anyways Changed oil once (I know I should do more). I did have to replace the quick connect couplers awhile back (leaking), but that's to be expected.

May I ask what purpose necessitates this to be used several times a week?

I use it for my 5 zone sprinklers. Does it work... Yes, is it efficient...No.

I don't have much space in the garage, and for the size to function I think it is worthwhile. For the zone with the longest line, it takes a while, so I keep doing it patiently 3- 4 times (lack of CFM) till only hisses are heard. The Makita has been great in blowing out portable fans & heaters, filling air in tires, cleaning computer parts, dyson parts, ballons, etc. One thing I never got to doing was using air tools on it, when it was one of my original reasons for buying it 5 years ago. These days the price of impact wrenches has dropped so much... don't makes sense to drag a hose around. This Makita has been great 5 thumbs up!

Thanks so much. The lack of garage space is the reason why I want to get this one. My main reason for getting it is sprinkler blowout and don't mind doing them 3+ times since I only do it once a year. Thanks!

Bought mine about 11 years ago. I was so impressed, I bought one for my son. Both are still going strong...and very quiet. I own other larger compressors too, but this Makita is...hands down...the best small compressor I've owned.
