wow! did the pandemic affect prices that much?? i got the 2395 on sale for $99 at best buy in jan 2020 and that was new, not refurb. now it's $219 new and refurb is $175!

Laser printer is toner not ink. I won't speak on color printers but for B&W Brother Laser doesn't have competition at this price range. I've had mine for 3 years and it's still on the "starter" toner that comes included. It can go into deep sleep for weeks/months and responds within seconds every time I need it. Granted I print less than 100 pages a month but if you're not printing in heavy volume laser is the way to go since the toner won't dry up on you. The high yield Brother toner is under 60 which puts you at ~2cents per page. If you get this at $90 that's over 8000 pages before you get to the lowest Ecotank printer. Then the Ecotank averages 3 cents per page for B&W so it will never catch up in cost savings.

not in my experience, bought one of these basic B&W five years ago, and use it very sporadically in a dusty area. maybe 1000 pages but sometimes months between pages printed.

It has performed flawlessly, and I have never had to buy more toner, I do have a spare I bought for $7.00 just waiting...

These end the never-ending headache that is an inkjet scam-machine.
