Damn - sick deal. Only thing I don't like about this oven is that it takes a while to heat up because we are stuck with puny 120v-15a breakers in this country for everything. If only we could have 220v-20a - this baby would rip.
They are deceptively well hidden. Reviews are sorted best to worst, with no way to change, no way to fast forward, and just 5 reviews per page. You've got to really want to see them, but there are lots. 3-star reviews start on p32, and keep going through p41.

Most don't look like dumb user issues to me. Looks like there are a lot of quality issues. I'm a geek and a cook, early sous vide adopter, but wouldn't go near this until Gen 2. Even the 5-star reviews are full of complaints about lousy app, connectivity dropping, flimsy tray and cracking water tank.
I would recommend you to look for reviews first with what I mentioned before in mind, that's definitely going to be more comprehensive.

But if you ask me, I would say the best part about this is that you do really have a precise control over all the element this oven could provide. Temperature is really precise to half degree, humidity precise to the percentage, and integrated thermometer works like a charm. I have used this to sous vide and grill a piece of picanha from frozen to perfectly medium rare with great sear in this oven costs only about 2 and half hours. It is really amazing. And there's much more this can do. It is the most used cooking appliance in my house now.

However like I said for cons I can list a lot. The software is not so great - it is not super stable, although not like annoying, but there's a few times I found it disconnected from WiFi. Reboot helps. The integration with alexa and stuff are just barebone. The control on the oven itself is quite hard to use - not that it is badly designed, but the oven is too capable that it takes a lot of time to go through numbers. And cleaning is more challenging than average oven, because it could do a lot it also could make sure all kinds of spills and smudge could present, and the water tank plays a adversary role in this.

Best cooking purchase I've ever made, despite some flaws. There's really nothing that can produce the results that this can, at least not outside 5 figure professional equipment.

The APO is amazing. I cooked the juiciest thanksgiving turkey (14 lbs) in 75 minutes. Customer support is very good at fixing issues from 1st gen model.

I purchased this from last discount post and I have gone over the same before. After I actually used it I realized that there's two kinds of negative reviews -
There are a bunch from people hoping this oven could magically make them cook better. No it won't. This kind of oven is supposed to be versatile while having an advantage on integrating different heating functions, contrary to some versatile cooking appliances that this one works better if the user knows how to cook.
The other bunch is from people wishing it is better. I am probably one among them that I can say many many minor cons of it. However overall I still want to give it a 9 out of 10 review because despite many can be desires, it already delivered enough worth for my money.

If you could go a bit in depth on what the cons are that would be helpful for those of us on the fence

I got one when they first came out. Best appliance purchase ever. I use it daily.

At this price, tempting to get a second one so that I can do two cooks at different temps at the same time. But I have a feeling that a new, improved model is on the way. Wink

Wow I was about to buy one at this price, as it's a pretty unique device at this price range but then I saw the dimensions, this thing is massive. Willing to pay the price, but can't afford the counter space

I don't recommend getting it. We tried it and did not like it. The drip water tray is not large enough and cannot catch all water. The gallon tank has issues of being leaking or will start to crack. Cooking on it when try ti super stream stuff is not wet enough.

Good price and I'd highly recommend it if you're on the fence.
I got one for similar and it's pretty much replaced my main oven/stove and makes up for not having a microwave.
Do note that it is very big and takes up a lot of counterspace so you probably can't have this and a microwave unless you have a lot of countertop space.
Personally, I've not had any issues with drip tray being too small but then again I have yet to sous vide something in the double digits hours range.
The worst part about this oven are probably the app and touchscreen controls, they're just very "meh" and nothing stands out as being great.
