Various sellers via Eneba [eneba.com] have 3-Month Xbox Live Gold Memberships from $6.80.
New / Expired Xbox Game Pass members can convert Xbox Live Gold membership to Game Pass Ultimate at 1:1 ratio. Any prepaid time up to the maximum of three years gets the upgrade.
NO VPN is required to redeem these codes.
Steps are only for New / Expired Xbox Game Pass members:
1. Click "Buy Now" on the product page
2. At checkout, add three more units of the subscription to your cart
3. Select PayPal or Credit Card as your payment method
4. Click "Got a discount code?" (you have to click the yellow arrow if you're on mobile)
5. Apply discount code
XLGPROMO >Expired
6. Proceed to checkout with 4 x 3-Month Xbox Live Gold Membership subscriptions for
$27.00.
(end-price might vary by a few cents due to currency exchange volatility)
7.
Redeem [microsoft.com] your Xbox Live Gold code(s) without agreeing to recurring billing.
(You can stack up to three years of Xbox Live Gold.)
8.
Join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate [xbox.com] by purchasing your first month for $1 (thus $28 for the full subscription) ($14.99 if you joined Game Pass before for $1).
9. You will be prompted to upgrade your Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate with a 1:1 conversion. The renewal date should be the same as your Xbox live gold, plus 1 month (Maximum 36 months).
Note: Active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can convert Xbox Live Gold Membership to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a 3:1 ratio.

Edit: Pulled the trigger and it cost me $14.99 to convert. That said, whenever Ultimate first came out they had the conversion for $1 offer and I did it then so maybe MS only let's you do it once at the $1 price.
Actually, the deal is offered multiple times based on their criteria, most likely on time expired.
I have done the $1 for 3 months GPU upgrade twice now. This "slickdeal" have been around. My first 3 years of GPU expired in Dec 2021 using $1 for 3 months upgrade. Just did another 38 months of GPU and still had the $1 for 3 months offer. So 6 months from the expired date.

I used "melon game" totaling $57.36
All of the codes worked. I used each code with recurring billing to get the extra month free except for the last 3 month code, which had recurring billing off. After each code redemption, i turned off recurring billing. This got me to 36 months of Xbox live Gold.
I did the special GPU offer of "$1 for first month, 2 months free" and paid $1.25 for the offer. This enabled to 1:1 GPU conversion. This was a surprise because I was a GPU member the last 2 years up until today. I was expecting to pay the $14.95 price.
My subscription is showing that Game Pass Ultimate is good until 9/1/25. I am not sure exactly why it is so long but I think it is because the GPU "special offer" extended the membership.
Tdlr: I paid $58.61 for a 3 year, 3 month Xbox live/Game Pass Ultimate Subscription.
Thank you, OP! This is a great example of a truly Slick Deal. Us old timers from back in the day (fatwallet) would give this a solid 5 "No HDMI kills the deal" trophies.
Once I applied the first key, I got the 4 months added but when trying to add more keys it gives me an error:
Try that again
Something happened on our end. Waiting a bit might help.
App-Error

I wonder if it was a glitch that got fixed. It seems that once you are an "active" account the keys don't work.
Hold off extending this right now
You've reached the limit of how far you can extend a subscription. Depending on the product it could be 2-5 years.
Right now it's at March 10, 2025. I can't seem to add the last 4months (last code). Suggestion?? Or I have to wait till 7/10 or 7/11 in order to add the last code?

Same thing happened to me just now. I purchased 9 but only 8 are in my Microsoft account order history. Did you ever solve this?
Update: just refreshed and it is now showing. Weird. Although it glitched out and didn't give me the extra month for turning on recurring billing.
