In pic it appears the depth is 13-5/8th. The wide is the "other" side I assume. Look at the pic where the depth is mentioned in diagram for the two racks for storage
I'd say the desk itself is better for someone in school but for a day to day remote work desk, I would go for something else. It's just too small. The L-shaped desk might be a better option for remote work but I can't really comment on it.
I will say Sauder has great customer support - one of the pieces on the desk did not fit correctly and they sent over a new piece really quickly after filling out a form.
