Check out the HP elitebook 745 G6 deal that's on Amazon. It's in the same price category these models are and I personally think it's a better quality product. It's Amazon renewed.

I think you will need to get at least an 8th gen for windows 11 compatibility. Don't quote me exactly but that's how it is for the desktop skus.
edit: yes it appears I am correct, the lowest cost one is a 7th gen and is not supported by windows 11
The lowest cost 8th gen is $311.60 and has a quad core where cheaper is just a dual core. Will Last longer = much better value
I have a Dell laptop with 8th gen i5 and a TPM module and it does not pass Windows 11 compatibility tests. There's some 8th gen processors that are not Windows 11 compliant.

Could be a BIOS issue. TPM 2.0 has to be activated in the BIOS.

I just went off this official list of Windows 11 supported Intel processors
I bought one of these a month ago, though it was a Touch screen. It's nice, very well built and the keyboard is nicer than new $600 laptops I've compared it to. My kid will abuse it so build quality was a top priority. The new $500-600 laptops I've looked at seem cheap in comparison.

Agreed. Most Dell Latitudes have a dedicated TPM chip instead of using the one built in to the CPU, and it must be enabled in the BIOS. Additionally, some of these TPM chips can be firmware flashed as TPM 1.2 or 2.0. If it shows up as 1.2, then you will need to get the 2.0 firmware from Dell's website to make it compatible with Windows 11.

The Windows 11 issue is mostly due to the TPM module. Even without Windows 11, you will stiil have years of use out of Windows 10.

Dell is standard for business but it not as sleek or sexy as other brands.

Also the TPM is in the CPU. Pay a bit more and get the 8th gen.

The cheapest one uses an 8350U which is listed here.
