Product Name: | GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6900 XT GAMING OC Video Card, GV-R69XTGAMING OC-16GD |
Product Description: | FEATURES Powered by RDNA2 Radeon RX 6900 XT Integrated with 16GB GDDR6 256-bit memory interface WINDFORCE 3X Cooling System with alternate spinning fans Graphene nano lubricant RGB Fusion 2.0 Dual BIOS Protection metal back plate CORE CLOCK Boost Clock : up to 2285 MHz (Reference card: 2250 MHz) Game Clock* : up to 2050 MHz (Reference card: 2015 MHz) WINDFORCE 3X COOLING SYSTEM The WINDFORCE 3X cooling system features 3x 80mm unique blade fans, alternate spinning, 6 composite copper heat pipes, large copper plate direct touch GPU and 3D active fan, which together provide high efficiency heat dissipation. ALTERNATE SPINNING Alternate Spinning can reduce the turbulence of adjacent fans and increase air pressure. SMOOTH AIRFLOW GIGABYTE turns the adjacent fans in the opposite direction, so that the airflow direction between the two fans is the same, reducing the turbulence and enhancing the airflow pressure. 3D ACTIVE FAN The 3D Active Fan provides semi-passive cooling, and the fans will remain off when the GPU is in a low load or low power game. UNIQUE BLADE FAN The airflow is spilt by the triangular fan edge, and guided smoothly through the 3D stripe curve on the fan surface. GRAPHENE NANO LUBRICANT Graphene nano lubricant can extend the life of fan by 2.1 times, close to the life of double ball bearing, and is quieter. LARGE COPPER PLATE & HEAT-PIPE With direct contact to the GPU and VRAM, the large copper plate combines the composite heat pipes to efficiently transfer heat generated from the interior cores to the heat sink. RGB FUSION 2.0 With 16.7M customizable color options and numerous lighting effects, you can choose lighting effects or synchronize with other AORUS devices. PROTECTION METAL BACK PLATE The metal back plate not only provides an aesthetical shape, but also enhances the structure of the graphics card to provide complete protection. DUAL BIOS Silent mode will provide a quieter experience. The mode switch requires a reboot to take effect. The default is OC mode. EXTREME DURABILITY AND OVERCLOCKING |

Nvidia also supports DLSS which is brilliant upscaling that AMD is trying to catch up to. Nvidia broadcast is also a great tool for noise cancellation etc…
On the flip side, this card has 6GB more vram than the 3080 FE and obviously will be much easier to obtain. That 6GB could make a difference for 4k gaming and will be more future proof obviously

-AMD Drivers are fine here.
-Ray tracing is worthless, 3 or 4 titles make good use of it.
-At 1440p this is just as fast and seems to run smoother on a lot of titles.
-DLSS isn't really necessary since either card can max out most titles anyway
Nvidia is really only needed if mining, possibly streaming depending on how you're streaming or if you have some weird fetish for ray tracing. This card will run most ray traced titles fine as it is anyway.
I'll second the ray tracing stuff. After getting my 6900xt installed I booted up a few rt games. Sometimes it was nearly worthless, others it was cool like Control. I could run max settings and ray tracing at around 60 fps. Forget what resolution, but think it was 1440p. It was less stellar at 3440, but still playable. Without ray tracing it blazed along at high res.
Metro ray tracing was also pretty cool. Getting a 6900xt made my humble bundle backlog worth it.
$100? HECK yeah. TRIPLE CHECK the paperwork. Send it in certified with signature confirmation. Never had any issues.
Me neither, that is a good deal for a new 6900xt and gigabyte makes good high end products I can't speak of the budget line.
And that isn't 2012, that is last year.
I heard 3xxx had these issues so I don't know why you are singling out one company over the other. People and their "teams" of anything nvidia are the ones that are selling your way less vram for much more money. What a joke that a 2060 can have 12gb and the 3070 has 8

update: now $769.99 AR/AC
the fact folks are buying proves a lot of gamers got shut out.
the card that'll replace this may or may not be available to everyone with supply chain issues and a semi-conductor shortage. people made claims about RX 5700 XT prices several years ago when those were selling for $330 AR, and those were the same people bitching the last two years because their crystal balls didn't come through. people also don't calculate the $ value of usage either - do you want to wait 1 year for the card to depreciate another $40-50 and possibly miss out? you can always buy a RX 6600 - noone is putting a gun to your head
