Be aware, these HP Victus and Pavilion desktops use proprietary motherboards, power supplies, and possibly coolers. And most likely the ram is a single stick. If you want upgradeability and still want an hp, get one of the larger Omen models and try to fix the airflow issues. But for that price point you're almost better building one yourself, or buying a pre-built from someone like clx, skytech, maingear, or similar.
if it won't run on a 3090ti why do you want a 3080ti.
A 3060 will meet the recommended requirements for VR gaming with I believe literally every headset. Outside of like the Prixas 8k VR sets, I think a GTX 1070 meets the recommended requirements for any current sets, maybe 1080 for some. The Oculus, though I guess now Meta Quest 2, has support for Oculus Link to access full PC VR games going back to like a GTX 970 even.point is, an RTX 3060 should be more than sufficient for a good VR experience.

Interesting deal. Their early June AMD deal had the 5600x with the 3060ti priced around the same ($970).
This processor is more expensive, has 8gb more ram, 256gb more on the SSD, (has the negligible TB HD), but I think the AMD deal had the better power supply, but w/e.

If youre interested in it - check a video review on the thermals, see if it has the same issues the HP Omen does.

Wish this was 3080TI (willing to pay more of course). A 3060 will be too slow for VR for sure.

Do any of these deals have DDR5? My 5820k is getting a bit long in the tooth- I figure if I'm going to upgrade I might as well go "whole hog". AM5 isn't that far off either…

I really want to like this deal, especially with that CPU, but with the heating issues that the HP Omens have, (I have one and can confirm the stock cooling setup isn't great, though the issue has been a bit overblown, it's not as rough as a jam-packed Alienware R10 or something that you can't even make adjustments to if you wanted) I have to imagine this 15L that's even less air-flow friendly could have some serious issues. Still though, if I could ditch the added HDD to get a discounted upgrade to a 3070, I would be pretty happy to get my own cheap NZXT case or something and transplant the components myself. Also change out the PSU, which I assume they skimped on here to try to save space and keep the heat down a little.

What I have been reading on reddit, a Microsoft Flight Simulator cannot run at decent frame rate (e.g. 60+ fps) even on RTX 3090 TI. That's number one on my PC VR TODO.

This BF should be interesting. With everyone expandable income shrinking, I would imagine the demand for anything gaming related should be much lower. Might actually see decent deal unlike last 2 years.

If your intentions are purely gaming I'd suggest building your own you can get a 12400f build and a 3060ti with a 1TB ssd plus the 16gbs of ram which will ultimately give you much better fps in games.

Doing so will keep you from being tied down to the restrictive case or what may also be other proprietary hardware along with bloatware.

HP puts a lot of proprietary crap in their systems such as non-standard mb and psu so they can't be upgraded or moved to a new systems which creates more ewaste. Also they value form over function so unless you check reviews for this system it could have incredibly bad cooling that actually thermal throttles the cpu/gpu like the recent alienware that Gamers Nexus reviewed.

Just sell the 8gb stick that comes with it, and buy a different kit, or buy another stick
