Never heard of a "Swedish" pipe wrench but I figured it would be too similar to my Ridgid (awesome) to justify spending $58 for another German, brand name tool (damn you, SD). Looks like I was right. Thanks anyway, OP.

Will this work with Norwegian, French, or American pipes as well? I don't have many Swedish pipes in my house…

Same price at Home Depot, [homedepot.com] which is where I physically saw these at.

The tool department manager that I personally know, said that a few of the 22" have been returned by professionals that use every day for having soft teeth. It is doubtful the average homeowner would even notice.

I feel really stupid saying this but I have the same question.
Won't Swedish work on all pipes?

The reviews on these products are not that hot, so I wasn't going to buy them.

Bought one of these last go around. Took over a month to get it as the first one ended up being an empty box that I assume the heavy tool just punched a hole through the packaging (bag had a perfect tool shaped opening to slide through). Second one came in with the box and packaging barely holding it. This is a very heavy wrench and very solid feeling. I own ~10 other pliers wrench's and cobras some being over 10 years old and they look fantastic with the most damage being a patina from getting water on them so much. The handles still work perfectly, the buttons still work like new. All this to say that this Pipe wrench did not meet my expectations.
I kept it because I think it will work well in certain situations. The jaw and handle design feels like I can keep an even stronger grip on pipes than the cobras due to the fatter handles and jaws making to easier to grip.

But I'm not happy with the button feel...it's "chunky" and less precise unlike every other Knipex button that I've used.

The rivets and fitment of the tool are tight, too tight...instead of sliding effortlessly one handed with a precision machined feel like other Knipex tools, I have to use both hands to pull and push these parts into place. I expect that from lower quality brands to be honest and at this price point it's a little disappointing. Every other Knipex tool I can use one handed in some rough places (that's why I don't use designs like Channel locks, one handed use is frustrating in narrow places you have to open the jaws 80+ percent of the way to move between sizes and they're not precise so you never end up with jaws fitting flush against the work).

That red painted sliding bar on the face of the tool is already scratched up. It came that way due to the reason above, the rivets are so tight that the paint is scratching away exactly where it slides along the other metal. It will also look like crap any time I ding it on something. Why would they put a painted piece on a tool like this? It seems like a design flaw that will make it look like a worn/ugly tool way faster. My other Knipex are old and yet still look amazing (no paint).
