I have the same set. I would have jumped on this deal if I didn't have the gw set. The size marking on the Milwaukee set is recessed so it won't wear out like the gw set will. The gw includes a 21mm but the milwaukee does not.

21mm is required for all Japanese car lug nuts. This set is dead on arrival.

Almost bit.. but realized I have no 3/8 impact. Got a 1/2 impact.. I guess I could use the adapter with my 1/4 impact, but in my experience, things you need impacts for, need more power than the 1/4, and impact+adapters has always been a bad idea..

That 192pc Dewalt set is a chrome 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" 6pt set and this, the OP is a 3/8" drive impact set.... You can use the impacts sets just like a chrome set, but you shouldn't use a weaker chrome set as an impact set... you will be cracking sockets.

===========
As far as Taiwan made GearWrench or Chinese made Milwaukee.... and besides the extra socket with GW, it is a personal preference. The Gearwrench is laser etched and the Milwaukee is stamped and painted. Now, if Milwaukee used red and blue, instead of all red to mark SAE and Metric like Kobalt does, that would be cool. What would be nice with all of them is to have a compartment inside the case to store a couple more items. I like both sets because they don't skip any sizes in the middle, but the GW was cheaper.

Was thinking the same thing. I think the gw is better since it comes with a 21mm and it's much cheaper. The 21mm is useful for Toyota lugs

What's a good impact to use the gearwrench set? Mainly for lug nuts and brake jobs?

1/2" Milwaukee Fuel. Make sure to get the friction ring and not the stupid pin detent.

3/8" is for smaller stuff. Not lugs and rusty brake parts.

Good set... If I already didn't have the husky 44 piece impact set and the Craftsman 51 piece that came with the toolbox... Damn you slickdeals.

I like the high vis markings on these but not enough to have a duplicate set in shop lol.

I have the Husky set. The markings are worth the upgrade imo

3/8 has the same power as the 1/2 and the purpose of stubby impact is to have smaller footprint. 3/8 will do 99% of all automotive work. If you are working on big trucks, you will have 1/2" but with 18v tool.

Direct tool outlet sometimes runs sales for holidays on their blemished or refurbed. They have a 3/8" rigid impact wrench with battery and case. I got it for 75+ tax+ shipping during the Father's Day sale (90ish total).

The blemished rigid tools and batteries can still apply for rigid's lifetime warranty.

That would be my vote on what to use with the 3/8" gear wrench socket kit.

I plan to put the 3/8 impact along with the rigid inflator in the trunk. I have the 1/2" but wanted to have something more compact for the car. The 1/2" will stay in the tool box for garage use.

100% with you there. I just dont use it enough to justify the 100 bucks.
