I have the bigger set of these and I had to send the first pair back. I had several times where I would bite into something and the pliers would just release. I was super disappointed. I received a new pair and the movement of the jaws is still just clunky. Knipex as a comparison is very smooth even my Irwin that have a button to adjust are smoother. I'm not sure if I need to spend an afternoon just sliding it up and down but just a heads up.

Get the old school Channellock version with dipped handles that's been around for 90 years.

If you want this type of "pushbutton" plier, then go with Knipex.

I've had my knipex with the button for like 8-10 years. Never a problem.
