I've been browsing FB marketplace and Craigslist for trailers and to find anything decent under $1k in my area is tough (residential building has been insane the past 2 years) admittedly I'd want something that can handle a higher payload but this is still a good deal for most uses.

The mesh is also available and I can't really tell the difference from the pictures but here is the link :

I picked up one from Lowes 9 years ago or so for $599 if I recall. Amazing how much the price of some things has gone up.

My recommendation is if you are going to spend the money, the one they sell at tractor supply with the bigger wheels is a better purchase.

Looks like it has 13 inch (1 inch bigger than Lowes) not sure if it's worth the extra $200!

Since it's a single axle, I recommend everyone to buy a spare wheel. I learned this the hard way.

Reviews on the mesh are better. It's mostly due to rust but they have since changed over to powder costing so hopefully that should fix a lot of issues.

I bought this trailer abouot 15 years ago at lowes for around $500ish. It has held up really well over the years. Disclaimer, I store it under a trap in winter. I agree buy a spare tire and carry a lug wrench with you. This year I replaced the tires for the first time. I ended up going with radial tires rather then the trailer tires this comes with. The radial tires were a nice upgrade. Around $300 for a pair. This year was also the first year I gave it a coat of paint. POR15 on all sides. Tedious project. The light kit was replaced about 7 or 8 years ago.

Overall I'm very happy with this trailer.

Crap Deal on a crappy trailer.

I bought this trailer years ago for about $500 -> $599 - Coupons and kept it for a few years. Bad things about the trailer or the worst axle of all the ones you can buy and not to mention the terrible rust inside the tubes. So the powder coating doesn't do JackShit. You can't even tape up the holes where the water gets in. I do admit I have an an outback - but this trailer is highly unstable at 50+ mph and maybe it would've been better with a Tundra type larger truck - but who knows. But if I had a large truck - I would get a 13ft trailer anyways.

The Northern Tool and the Tractor supply ones are similar ( maybe the same ) - but have a better axle and seemingly had better stability. I ended up buying the Caravan from Sammys and it came with 12" wheels - but I ended up swapping with 3 x 13" Wheels and they just about fit. It is a bit more stable and has no vibration or other issues. All Trailers at this price point do rust on the inside of the tubes as they are not painted, but the Caravan allows me to tape up the holes where water can seep in and had the best outside paint job.

If you need a Trailer and can wait a year or two - Steel prices will tank - and these trailer will be back down several 100s and you can pick and choose the one you want after evaluating all the different ones and choosing the best one for your needs. Note there are always very nice brands if you want to spend $1.5-2K or more for a 5x8 - but I personally don't use mine very often, so Rust + Stability were my main concerns and not everyday use. But if you are an everyday user and want a Trailer to last a while - you can't fool yourself into buying these inferior brands for < $1000.

You CAN use the 10% off Lowe's coupons on this. The cashier will probably look at it funny and question whether it will go through, but I used one less than 60 days ago, they just scanned it and the discount applied like a normal purchase.

I have the harbor freight $399 trailer that needed to put together. Fine quality and do not rust, yet. I use it as a boat trailer so it take a lot more abuse than yours probably lol. I tow it with my Jeep Wrangler with no problem. Will try to tow it with my grand caravan tomorrow to see if it's good.

I keep considering these, but yeah, price is up a ton lately. And with U-Haul trailer rentals being $15/day, would take me a lot of rental days to break even, and I don't own any maintenance this way. Gonna keep renting.

Exactly! And you don't have to store it and license it.
